Try a black glass on the ceiling. I had a job in a modern home, and this kind of material looks really clean and modern. You could add some lighting appliances, maybe one big "industrial like" spotlight above the shower.Add some speakers on the ceiling as well.
Cheers,
Stefan

RE: More VR4SU Griping
Guys, don't take it personally, I remember the days when ASGVIS worked on v-ray for SU, and all the rhino guys were upset. It was a loooong period of waiting for them, and I guess, now is their turn to play. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy neither.

Looks fantastic Tom. As for the "art on the wall" you can use your own prints.

RE: Model and render this: Glass brick/block
I did a render long time ago, but I didn't used a glass brick model. It's just a wall( probably out of scale) but it worked for me. Here is the rendering, and the textures I used:

RE: Vray
Andy, I don't think you have any reason to apologize, because you are one of the most helpful person around.
DOMI, it's hard for people to give you the right answer and right away. Usually, beginners have questions from five to five minutes, and it's not bad, because it shows that you want to learn. Still, a beginner should read the manual first, then follow some tutorials,
and then hit the forum. In deed not all the people will help you, because people work, don't have an answer, or just don't want to answer.
So, the conclusion is to follow some tutorials about exterior rendering in this particular case of yours, visit Nomeradona's blog and bookmark them, search on youtube tutorials shared by ASGVIS or ChaosGroup .
And by the way, here you will get help, but not with this attitude.
Good Luck,

RE: Vray lighting problem
When you use high quality settings for IM (subdivisions and such) you're starting to loose detail, geometry is "floating". Lower the settings, or, use detail enhancement, or, my favorite one, use AO.

Elisei, you're doing an amazing job! The deal with this real model, is that you can really show your sketchup kung-fu.

RE: Manor house with early mist
I just want to say thank you. Because of you, I searched my old PS book(for CS 3) and start reading again. Hopefully, I'll have more free time during this holiday, to really dive in.

RE: [Resolved] Transparency not really transparent...
Hi, I used your settings. Default render settings, only a HDRI image in background.
-
RE: [Resolved] Transparency not really transparent...
It works. I've inverted the map only in transparency. In vray, WHITE means transparent.
-
RE: [Resolved] Transparency not really transparent...
Yes, white, apologies. I'll correct my reply.

RE: Vrfsu settings - interior render
Andy, you are spot on! I was about to remove all those omni lights, but I got a bug splat and because it was late at night, I gave up. Before that, I noticed that the rendering buckets stayed to much over that beige-brown wall, and that's simple diffuse material. It was all those lights, as you figure yourself.
Another thing I noticed, was the fact that he have rectangular lights in some of the windows, even if he use Fernando's method for bringing more light through the GI, without having the sun there. So, no need for those lights.
Kalu, as a general advice, you should use components instead groups. The scene will not be as heavy as it is.
