Its fairly vague, because we do not have the project yet and I dont know what the clients are looking for, but I am assuming it wont be too "in your face". It is for an interior walk through of a sort of office space. Im just trying to find resources for any type of free or licensed music that can be purchased at a reasonable price.

RE: SU+VRAY+PS
These renderings look very good, but there is alot going on in each scene and combined with the camera angles, they kind of take away from the actual building. But very good control of your rendering and materials

Music For Animations Anyone?
I know that animation is not necessarily the most popular thing when dealing with SU, but does anyone know of any resources for free music or even purchasable music to incorporate into animations/presentations? I have been looking but havent really been able to come up with too much. Any help is greatly appreciated and if I find anything, I will gladly share with everyone.

RE: My Seastead Design Contest Entry
I like these images...especially the sketchy one. Is that a straight SU style or did you do that in post process?

RE: Animator.rb - Call for participation
I know you are looking for response of people that can help, and I am certainly not capable of scripting, but I just wanted to say that this would be ground breaking for the SU community if you were able to implement controls like you are talking about. I have been one of the many trying to push animation in SU to its fullest and I have had some success with my nightclub animation, but I still felt so limited and had to really on post processing for a lot of tweaking. It would be great to have the things you are talking about. Are you considering any controls for animating objects and such or just to improve the camera? Best of luck and I will be following this one for sure.

RE: New Architectural Illustration
Thanks for the feedback guys. I Wish i was able to model more of the surroundings to get more reflections, but we were only able to do what you see in the image and that limited the reflections. I will try to work on them in PS to see if I can make them more convincing. And the materials are a little clean, especially the terra cotta and I will see what I can do with that one (Gotta ask the architect )
The building is actually right down the street from my office in an area called the "Strip District". It is right outside of the city of Pittsburgh...a two minute walk to get into the city from there.

RE: [Plugin Idea] Deform Plugin
First, plugin idea would be great and Id love to see someone run with the idea.
Second, not to dwell on what has already been said, I want to speak a little towards this little SU discussion. I agree with several of you, that why would we start going after one another. One of greatest things about SU that no other program can match, is the community and the way everyone works together and shares. I would not be where I am today without this community and ones like the ASGvis and podium ones, and that is a credit to all of us and I thank you all. So there is no need to go after one another, even if there are differences in opinions. With that said, I am equally as frustrated as kwist, because I am at a point in my life, as I am sure many of you are, that time is crucial...Every day I go back and forth debating with myself to stick with SU or put time into learning 3ds max. Yeah being able to learn multiple programs is great and makes you more versatile, but It is frustating not knowing what to put my time, money, and energy into right now. If we knew that SU was going to try and at least develope things like "high poly support" then it would be less frustrating because I would know wat to invest my time into and what to stick with. But now I am stuck balancing both SU and max and that just makes everything that much more difficult. Honestly, it jsut seems like SU continues to be a tease to keep some people around and I have to admit that I am one of those that just cant manage to move on because it works too well with architecture. We all value our free time and nobody wants to put time into something that is never going to grow at a competetive rate and not to mention, we are talking about a lot of money for people to learn programs like this in offices. Plus, if anyone is like me, I want to put time into learning other things like web design or motion graphics and there is just so much out there that it would be nice to know what modeler to truely invest into.
One thing we do have to remember, and this could maybe explain some of the slow developement,.....SU is FREE. You can not overlook that. But, I would like to see them stop trying to convince people that SU pro is something different just because you pay for it. ITS THE SAME PROGRAM, but like everyone else, my office purchased it. It just seems like they are trying to get one over on people by making a pro version with littl-to-no extra features cost hundreds of dollars. And that is another reason I think people get frustrated....If we pay several hundred dollars on something, we should be able to rely on the developement team to competetively develope the product and not the users (google should be paying plenty of guys on this forum for keeping peoples' interest alive in this program, because how many of you would even be around if we didnt have plugins like FFD or freescale?...shout out to the developers, thanks )
Lastly, we cant get to offended with what is said on here. Some people have different opinions and they all need to be respected, and I have heard many others say far worse than anything that was mentioned in this thread, and many were quite funny. Lets just not lose that community that makes this program what it is.
OK I am done with my ranting & rambling...Hope I didnt upset anyone?

RE: [Plugin][$] FredoScale - v3.6a - 01 Apr 24
I am running the most recent version on a pc and all of the tools work except the bend tool....half the time it wont even activate when I click the icon and when it does work, it only rotates the object and doesnt bend it. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

definately more of the look she was going for, very nice and thank you for all the tips and work you put into the images. I will show here and she wat she thinks.

RE: East 8th Hotel
Roger: Now that you explain what you did, I definately see it. I actually cant believe that I missed those things, but they do enhance the picture in a different way. If you are up to continue playing with the image, I would be interested in seeing the same concpets, but with a warmer tone. The designer aka "my girlfriend" wanted a warmer/cozy feel and that is part of the reason the original has that darker tone, but it would be cool to see your improvements combined with the original intended aura/atmospher
Teo: Thanks again man, always nice hearing your feedback.

RE: 1 BaThRooM and 1 ExTeRiOr
Nice images you got here. The composited ones blend fairly well and are very convincing. The only thing that seems a little off to me with the interior shots is the glass and mirror. The mirror does not look polished enough to me, it looks a little too dull and not shiny enough, but that may be a result of the tone of the room? And the glass is along the same line...it just seems a little too dark and not "glass-like" enough. But just minor things and that may have been the conept. Other than that, keep up the great work man...its always a joy to see

RE: East 8th Hotel
thanks for all the feedback guys, i will make sure my girlfriend sees all the positive words. These are some of my favorite interior renderings that I have done and it is more of a compliment to her design and modeling than anything.
mirjman: I agree with the flooring, it seems to dominate the picture a little to much in that lower right hand corner and a little less bump could really help I think
Roger: I definately understand and have had similar experiences with what you are saying. Honestly it is even hard for designers who do not do any type of modeling/rendering work to understand concepts like this. I always get architects/designers at work questioning things about camera angles and such, but I think all of us as artists have more of understanding of the way things appear and the difference there is between that and the way things are in reality. But we can also get a little blinded by our perceptions of the world and overlook how most people see things and forget that we are working with clients who may not necessarily have an eye for such things. Its something that kinda goes back and forth. As far as your changes: I like the changes you made with the wood. Its make the space feel a little "cooler" or blueish but I do think it brought out a little more contrast with the wood. The flare to me is a little too distracting. with the perspective/field of view, did you try changing anything? Because I am not sure if I notice cropping or anything like that?
