    • Fredo Plugins Not Working...Please Help!

      Hello,

Last week, out of nowhere, all of my fredo plugins (round corner, tools on surface, fredoscale, etc) stopped working. The toolbars are visible but nothing works when I click on the icons to start using the plugins. I have been workingn with our IT company to come up with a solution, but we have not had success...We uninstalled and re-installed sketchup 2016 and 2018 several times, as well as, all of the plugins. We rolled back a windows update to a time last week when these were still working and it still did not work. I have been using these plugins for years and never seen this sort of problem. I have been working in 2016 (havent had the chance to update all of my plugins to be able to migrate to 2018), but when I noticed the problem in 2016, I decided to upgrade everything to 2018 and still had the same problem. These tools are essential to my workflow and I am at a loss at this point.

I have all of the proper plugin updates and the toolbars are there, but they just dont seem to want to activate when I click on them. If there is anyone else that has had this problem and that could suggest a potential solution, please let me know...I will be extremely grateful. Thank you in advance for any help.

      Best,

      Adam

    • RE: Modeling and rendering (update 2013.08.02)[watch last page]

Theres are very strong illustrations. One of my only critiques is that the white balance in the images look a bit off (too yellowish)..ignore me if thats the look you are going for, but I think that would help make the images brighter and pop more. Good work though.

    • RE: Anyone Using a 3D Mouse?

i may be a bit late to the conversation, but I use both the small version (at home) & the pro version (at work). They work great, but use them a lot more when Im in 3ds max, or when I need to get really close on my model in SU and the mouse just isnt cutting it. I honestly dont use many of the shortcut buttons on the pro version so if your on a budget, the $99 one will do just fine. Hope that helps

jary: I think I could have made somewhat comparable renderings in Vray for SU., but I would have had to sacrifice several things because of SU's limitations...Couldnt have done the rug, vegetation would have been different, and a few other models like the car would haver never been usable in SU. Oh, and the fire was the Phoenix plugin for vray in max. But SU, like always, was still the primary tool in the core of the models. Thanks for the feedback though

earthmover: Thanks man, always nice hearing from you. I had a blast doing it. I wish I had enough work to just do 3D, but I had to diversify so ive been getting heavy into things like web design, graphic design, and photography. I just got a canon 60D camera and youd b amazed how much better you begin to understand vray after working with a real DSLR camera.

Bryan: It was kind of a labor of love. The artist is a friend of mine and I kinda went overboard and did way more work than what I got out of it monetarily, but we were both happy in the end so it was worth it. Here is another site I did for a different artist that you may like (http://www.joeyfattz.com). Thanks again for the comments

    • Www.leveleonline.com Project

Hey guys, these renderings are for a project thats a bit different compared to the architectural projects I typically work on...They are stills from a website I designed for an artist named Gary Houston (E.D.O.T.). If you are into rap/hip-hop, you may really enjoy his music...he is the nephew of Whitney Houston and a really talented artist here in Pittsburgh.

The first image is all photoshop, but the rest are all renderings that I modeled in SU and rendered in Vray for Max. Then I touched them up in photoshop and coded all of the animation/navigation in Flash. This project was fun, because I was free to do what I want...No budgets or creative limitations like most of my architectural projects. I tried not to go too "over-the-top" so that the site focused on the artist, but Gary & I really enjoyed creating something as unique as we could. I hope you all enjoy the images, & make sure you check out the actual website (http://WWW.LEVELEONLINE.COM) to see the final project all in motion.

    • RE: Day And Night :::

Freeagent: couldnt agree with you more about posting work on other sites for archvis. Alot of people on sites like evermotion critique with assumptions that people dont have budgets or deadlines....while its great to get feedback, ive seen too many people get rudely ripped apart on that site because they may have repeated a technique or cut back due to budgets/deadlines/client requests. Way too many hobbyiest that have forever to work on a single image, and many of us doing this for a profession dont have that luxury. Thats why i still like to post here eventhough I use SU-3dsmax workflow like you...I get more out of hearing what everyone here says than any other site.

Anyway...ur work is always inspiring. Keep up the good work man, and nice technique for the light streaks...I would always custom make them in photoshop, but I never thought to find and use stock footage. I like that.

the model is great & I like the rendering...the foreground/concrete would be my biggest critique. That texture just looks to flat and not random enough. Good work though.

    • RE: VRay -Sketchup & 3ds Max - Various New Projects

Thanks for all the comments guys...I know i got carried away with the fish-eye. I have to agree that its not recommended for architecture, and I think most of the architects in my office would feel the same since they never end up using those renderings and are always bitching at me about it...but I have to disagree that its a complete no-no...I feel it can serve its purpose in some instances where you need a dynamic image thats not all about proper scale, perspective, and etc. I know I certainly overdid it, but I wouldnt completely rule it out for arch-vis....just my opinion though. Thanks again guys.
