It says the download is free, what is the catch? Do you pay for the room boxes?

Looking awesome, can you show mesh with lines and how you achieved the organic hull shape?

Does this work with Sketchup? I mean, how integrated is it? I see it integrates with 3dsmax.

What does it compare to? D5?

      Thank you

I may need to get hold of them for higher resolutions as this is about the same as Nearmap (at least now I do not have to keep paying Nearmap for something I can get free)

      Dave

I am an absolute plonker, to the life if me I cannot figure this out, I cannot get a satellite view like yours above

Can you please show me how?
Here is one of the locations (there are 3 in total in the same county)
I just need to understand one to be able to carry on

      Attached is a kmz

Thanks in advance (only if you have the time)

      Thanks, Dave

That looks promising, I'll try to look up the counties I need, hopefully I can then figure out the mapping, if only one could get images with terrain

Do you have a link to the GIS site you got the image from?

I am not versed with this type of solution, is there a tutorial on this? I have once (a long time ago) tried very high-resolution images but struggled to map them to the then Google imagery and terrain I geolocated

    • High quality satellite images needed

      Hey guys

I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues.

      Is there another solution?

I have considered flying out to the location and doing 4k drone images but that cost is just beyond the project as there are 9 different locations over 3 states

      My 2c

Depending on your computer, if you have a decent rig I'd go for a real-time render engine, trust me you want instant results while learning, back in the day I'd have to wait hours to just spot mistakes.

and there is one, it's fantastic, it also integrates with Sketchup very well and it's free.

Twinmotion is the direction you want, it has both raster and path racing engines, tons of materials, assets, and most importantly support.

You plan to 3d print it, makes sense why one mesh now, good luck, keep up updated

Looks like A2 is pretty good (at that price one would hope so)

Why model the helmet and face as one mesh?

I have some time available to play now that I semi-retired, I'll give it a go
      lets play

and based on above question I'll assume you gonna ask me too.

I have pretty much used most if not all the render engines integrated with Sketchup, from vray, Podium, Thea, and so on to the new and easy real-time solutions like Lumion, Enscape, and Twinmotion
