Absolutely. Really not that big of a difference with Pro. As far as the render engine there is NO difference.
Showcase pro. Most users will never need pro IMO. It is not a perfect render engine but for a super small learning curve compared to results it is great. I rarely use anything else for product rendering. Once you start using things like alternative and behaviors you will realize the power of the software.
Does cycles offer a real time solution?
Things I REALLY like about showcase:
Alternatives (huge feature)
Behaviors (accepts rigging from Maya)
Real time rendering (done right).
Understood although free does not always equate to best. I was just trying to show a low cost ($995) solution for great quality rendering with a built in real time solution that works.
The perspective to the exterior is really tweaked and has me feeling like I am falling into the space. The curtains looks furry? The lighting is pretty good but materials need a bit of work. I would drop the camera and work on the perspective for starters.

The HDRI looks nice as does the lighting. I am not sure if you did anything to the materials but they need some tweaking to really show off the ability of the render engine. The shadow is quite a bit off as well.

These do look great. My only comment would be that both the renderings got washed out a bit compared to the original which had more contrast. Overall nice work.

Tig,
Does Capturewixpro save a screen capture as a video format or as a bunch of images that need to be pieced together?
Scott
Tig,
I don't think movie maker does screen video capture.

I am looking for a low cost (under $200) AVI editor. Things I need it to do:
Basic clipping/editing/joining of AVI's
Adding text
Basic transitions
Screen capture capability
The hard part is it needs to be "easy enough for a sales guy to use it".
Any help is appreciated,
Scott
I think what is missing in the renders are the little details. Things like:
Wall power outlets
Wall light switches
Other items to make the spaces look "lived in".
These are the types of things commonly missed. When people do remember the little items it is what makes a render realistic. The best advice is research home magazines and really look at the pictures and see all the small details and not just the space overall.
The last image for example only has 5 items in the shot:
A painting
lamp
table
sofa
chair
things you could add:
Magazines or books
rug
plants
The other things is don't always take the obvious direction of the light. Here you chose the light to come through the windows because they are in the scene. What about placing the light coming through a window behind the camera? Not as obvious and can add more realism.

Nice work. The leather on the Barcelona chairs seems off to me. On the last image I get a feeling that the wall on the right should be showing up slightly in the floor. Right now it looks disconnected somewhat.
Scott
The image is nice but the lighting is completely blown out for me. I also get a feeling of a very closed in space. I am not sure if that is due to the camera angle or not. Overall it is a pretty good image.

RIP
Your insight will truly be missed.

What I am basically looking for is a clay render style but also have the ability to keep displacement, bump and reflections.
