Ahh...
Forgive me, I could not make out the detail from the attachment above my post.

Looks pretty good.
If you are going for close up detail from what the picture shows it is just faces made onto the cylinder? ( ) that could bring your model down when it comes to render.
Try playing around with different types like this...
Notice how the one raised thread is continuous from top to bottom.

Hi Gilles.
Thanks for the link never knew about it but It sure looks good but I'm not looking for a request or anything. I have made the model and have uploaded it here to share.
Scott.
Been looking through Blender tuts on Youtube and found one that crates a realistic chain link.
One Torus stretched and subdivided then expanded at one section to create the little weld bump that you see in a link.
Just copied and pasted then put through the rigid body sim and played.
Couple of hundred frames in and I thought it looked realistic enough.
.OBJ format exported through blender.
[EDIT]--- If somebody wants just a few links dropped through the sim and the rest straight I will happily do it once I have some spare time.
Enjoy folks.
If the lines are on an axis then just use the PushPull feature from one end to another
This is far from finished. Thanks for the feedback. The pole/hoop is a component and I placed it there just so I could render it with the court.
Juts looked at your post Travis and it looks good! Coming along good for someone who's been using SU for a short time.
Took inspiration from a video on youtube of a basketball court being modeled in MAYA. All SketchUP with Maxwell render plug-in.
looking to complete the floor markings and get some advertisement boards done. Then if it looks feasible I might model the giant screens that hang around the middle of the floor.
Okay well thanks to John I managed to find some great textures. Still learning though so any advice would be a good help!
This is just a PDF created from Krisidious' posts on here.
All pictures links and text are up to date as of 9.00 p.m. If something is wrong tell me and I'll try to get it fixed ASAP.
Soon as Kris makes Pt.4 I will update this.
Thanks.
Sketchup > HELP > check for updates...?
This was made with Maxwell Render plugin. Found some great textures online and a few sky presets so playing around with these and I liked this one the best.
Outside the walls is just space right now apart from a grass verge which I hope to render with the maxwell grass feature but it crashes my laptop
Excellent site, Easy to tell if textures are tiled or not.
Took the basic "Metal_Steel_Textured" mat and added some grunge into gimp. Imported it back into SU and played around with the color filters to give me 2 other variations. As soon as they're painted onto an object they will be too big so scale back to the original size of the mat (about 152 I think )
First time doing this so let me know if you download them and they work.
Might do some more on concrete etc.
Thanks.
Scott.

Got this plug-in today and got to say it's pretty awesome. So easy and quick.
Anybody have any tips for texturing after this? Tried texturing before it was eroded but that just gave me really distorted materials.
Thanks for anything guys!
Hi I don't know If I've grasped this.
Do you want to make a render with the camera inside the car so that the interior is rendered close up and then the exterior?
Post a dutch reply and I shall see if I can translate properly.
Just turn the passes down so that it completes a quick render in a few seconds. You could use that as a quick preview before upping the detail
Sadly the link gives me drivers that are older than the current ones installed on my laptop. Oh well. Still a great piece of software
Thank you Kris and Alexey for the replies.

Oh, I did not try that one.
I tried a different one and because that had not worked I left it that that.
Thank you Alexey I shall post with results soon!
