Recently upgraded from SU7 to 2013. From day one i have been experiencing this strange graphic behavior. Draw a simple quad face. Change view to plan. Start line tool. click first point. Mouse away for second point, at this point you should see the "rubber band" except in my drawing the rubber band disappears, seemingly, behind the quad surface drawn in the beginning. You can see by mousing beyond the face that the rubber band is present, but somehow is hiding behind the face. What gives? Has anyone experienced this before?

is should also point out that i am Lenovo laptop user and my graphic cards are all up to date.

I am experiencing some odd behavior, perhaps others are also. I have a simple studio scene set up. After running the plugin and applying aspect ratio I see the familiar safe frame bars on either side of the viewport just fine. If I orbit around the scene and then try to return the scene to its view point by hitting the scene tab, the bars disappear. The only way I can get them back is by clicking off the TT vray camera tools and then running the script again. not a big deal but wish it weren't so. Any thoughts?

My office still runs version 1.48 on Windows 7 64 bit machine.

of course rather than "tantalising" the old one I "uninstalled" the old one.

never mind about my issue. deleting the old TTLib and tantalizing the new one seem to get rid of the issue.

Interesting insight. I'll keep an eye out for that. It could be that my viewport situation was as you described, not completely orthogonal.

Further study on this "black line" issue when exporting to pdf revealed that this is caused by some offending geometry. The geometry does not necessarily have to be complicated. Layout appears to exhibit this bad behavior when custom styles are present in the layout file.

I also have experienced the thick black line when trying to export to pdf from layout. Have you solved that problem?

Have you seen this alert message before? First time for me. The message started appearing when i try to trim a series of solid 2 x 2 from a larger dummy solid. I isolated the solids in question in a separate file and interestingly i no longer got the message.

Peter raises some good issues about detailing. the question that comes to mind is at what point do these details, as beautiful as they are, cross the line into "means and methods"? Is there a construction "feasibility" process that allows a contractor to, dare I say, come up with improved ways of detailing a structure. Is there a middle ground where the 3D sketch can be suggestive of design intent but stay on "this side" of the design line?

Really well done nick. I can only imagine that Trimble is paying good attention to layout. The future looks bright.
