Stefan,
that's an impressive way of pushing SU & Vray to the limits, the amount of detail plus a clean & neat rendering solution you have achieved is fantastic
cheers

Simon your glass shader looks great especially on the rounded corner (second image), thanks for sharing
cheers
great visuals buddy!!
I love in special the first one, interesting and clever technique using an HDR to light up the interior, I wonder how you did it, did you use only one plane or several planes??? and what kind of glass material did u use??
cheers

Hi guys,
here comes a work in progress, Tadao Ando's Kujo townhouse (Izutsu house), I modelled this house about a decade ago with autocad, few days ago I converted it to SU and started to fix the model and to add details, lets see how it ends

Bryan K, thanks a lot, Im glad you like it...
Simon, I really appreciate it, I was already counting with your vote
agreed the Facebook thing is strange, seems like in Maxwell they like it...
sorry no Neutras material yet, concerning to the HDR: 'colorful sunset 01' from openfootage

my entry to the 'Out of Place' Maxwell for SketchUp render competition...
This Lunar Lansdscape, as Richard Neutra called it, the desert landscape, when he was hired by Edgar Kaufmann to design a vacation house in Palm Springs, one of his most brilliant projects: Desert Kaufmann House.
Ten years before, the same Kaufmann comissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design the famous Fallingwater House, a decade later visited Taliesin West in Arizona, but he was not impressed and he went to Neutra.
What would happen if Kaufmann had hired Wright to design his house in the desert???
I used to add an Ambient Occlusion pass when used Vray, I dont know if it is possible to do an AAOO pass with Maxwell...
Using Maxwell, I added some dirt or imperfections with a texture, probably you could add a dirt texture in a layer apart, that way you can control the amount of dirt you want on a material...
globally, an idea is to override materials with a white clay, add a dirt texture to the clay material and render, then add this AAOO pass to your render in PS...
Hi Simon! it is looking great, but I agree with Bryan K probably it is too perfect and clean, what about adding some dirt? do you have a link to your entry WIP?

Hi Simon, looks fantastic!! love the lighting and the stone wall texture (are you using displacement on it?)...
my crit is that lowpoly saddle in the foreground needs some more love
cheers mate
thanks Simon!!, and many thanks for the feedback during the Maxwell competition...
concerning to your caustics test, are you using the preset liquid type shader within the sketchup plugin?? or is it done with Maxwell render suite??
