@omikron said: Really impressive work and amazing attention to details. I guess you visited the place to get the real feeling of that architecture. If not, you really got it right out of the box! thanks a lot omiKron for your kind comment! My only visit to the place took place 15 years ago, but I still remember the lighting feeling... the making-of-Oculus was recently published at SketchUpArtists if you guys would like to take a look here: http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/sketchup-and-maxwell/the-making-of-oculus/ best V

@richard said: I really like it too mate! Though I'd have probably put more polys in the foreground shaping to smooth it a bit! Example of what I mean! [attachment=0:2t6e40yf]<!-- ia0 -->LILLIPILLI EXAMPLE 2.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2t6e40yf] Thanks Richard for your comments! Thats a nice example image buddy, the idea of using the terrain shape as a low poly triangulated mesh is to get a more abstract feeling... Best V

That sounds like a good approach - I think I'll have to give it a go some time. Normally I rely on a rock-solid contract and a 50% deposit (if they won't pay that then it's usually a good indicator that you'll have trouble collecting your fees at the end of a project). Same process here. Worked well for the last 10yrs

@pilou said: Does you must have 3DMax for install the Corona Stand alone, or it's really a Standalone? pilou, 3D max is not needed in order to use Corona Standalone, I use it with Blender and the Corona render exporter (mentioned in my comment above), but the standalone is quite limited compared to the plugin for 3D max... @archbit88 said: @novena Ok thanks a lot! I am a Cinema4d user (and sketchup modeler) but I was thinking about migrating to Blender. I will see. Do you acutally think they are going to develop the standalone version in the future or they will be more interested in developing the 3ds/cinema/big-commercial-softwares versions? Because I heard the standalone lacks some important features at the moment (for example, if you're putting a texture into a material and you want to slightly change the saturation you have to do that with another software, therefore saving another texture, then coming back to corona...) If you are a max user I guess you can understand me well thanks! archbit88, you are welcome! I do all the modelling in Sketchup and then export to blender when it is the case that I'm using Corona (I am more a SU modeler and a Maxwellian), the good news for you is Corona for Cinema 4D is the next in line... https://corona-renderer.com/corona-alpha-v1-2-for-cinema4d/ you heard well, you can not for example change saturation of a texture, the standalone is quite limited, but still you can get great results out of it, in a very short render time beside 3D max and now C4D, seems that they are not interested to start integration with other package soon... they currently have a poll, which 3D soft to integrate next, and SU is ranked 3rd right now https://corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php/topic,238.0.html best V

hi again! omiKron, thanks for your comment!! tom72, thanks a lot, yes, grass is made with the maxwell's grass feature... about DOF in vray: you have to create a z depth pass, then in photoshop use that pass to give the depth to your render using the lens blur filter... the following tutorial is for 3D max but it should work similar with SU + vray http://www.onnovanbraam.com/index.php?tutorials/depth_of_field/ Carloh, much appreciated! I used SSS (single sided) material for grass, and a texture for the blades shared by Peter Guthrie in this tutorial: http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2009/04/vray-grass-tutorial-part-2/ thanks again, best V

ATLAStudio, thanks for your comments! I agree about the walls but the exterior white walls actually have very subtle imperfections which are more noticeable in the WIP thread images http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=333&t=48884, weather here in southern Sweden must be not so different to yours in Scotland the pendant light was modeled by me, it is agnes chandelier designed by Lindsey Adelman http://lindseyadelman.com/lighting.php?item=214 Bryan, thanks man for your kind comment! Adorno, much appreciated for your suggestion... I just read this comment from Jason Maranto in another thread: "I've seen plenty of nice interiors using just Physical Sky or HDR only, and it will be just fine, but add a emitter to the interior and you are asking for noise that may not resolve until very high SL." my mistake is having a sun light + physical sky + 10 emitters + 2 IES... thanks guys best V

Carloh and Peter, thanks a lot for your comments... here comes attached a screen capture with my camera settings... the output resolution is set to 800 x 800, for the right half of the image the lens X shift value is set to 50, then for the left portion is set to -50, the Y shift value must be the same for both images (note in this case my Y shift value was set to -19 because of the image composition) best V [image: Qjjx_screen01.jpg] [image: ipfT_screen02.jpg]
