@tig said: You need a 3pt-circle tool rather than a 3pt-arc tool to be sure of the result... I found out that in this case it is simply better to have the arcs first! Than I need to project rail 1 or 2 onto the plane on y, connect the arc's end points with each other and than I have to draw a line from the arc's highest point to the center of this line. Than I need to use EEbyRails to extrude each of the herewith created part of the projected path along those rails. Very nice results!! I hope you get it from the image. My English is sick today... It is really great and must become part of some (maybe even existing?) script. You can't do all the steps involved over and over again. (Is there some documentation for EEbyRails and Curviloft with examples so that it is easier to access them from own scripts???) Have a nice weekend. [image: OnLl_arc.png]

@tig said: This version was made using my ExtrudeEdgesByRails tool ... seems to work OK ? The mesh it generates is very clean and nice, but if you look at it in side view it is not what you always want. But I found out that Curviloft works with a little workaround. @tig said: There are many commands that only appear in [context-]menus IF certain criteria are met Yes, I knew that, but I thought that in the general preferences there should be all possible entries independent of the model or the selection. So the general preferences are not as general as I expected... good to know

@unknownuser said: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=14773 I had seen it, but after reading the last comment didn't give it try. But I think 10$ is nothing compared to the time I spent on "Intersection with..." so far anyway. And Bool Tools - just bought it - seems to be a good piece of code.

@mitcorb said: You could intersect those rectangles with your mesh and delete the unwanted protrusions. However, this obviously will affect the regularity of the mesh along the trim planes. That's what I did and cleaning up is real work when the curves have a lot of segments. But I found out that I can use Tapermaker to get the two missing curves. Edit: For the record. Everything can be done with EEbyRails. The "Profile"-Curve is just "Melding-Profile" curve, too. Awesome, TIG! [image: idVZ_2.png]

In SU there is no curves ! Only edges! So each surface must be first closed by triangles! There is not inside the plug an option for erase coplanar edges ? (if I good remember)

If you own the plugin SketchUV, you can use its "Path Select Tool" and get this kind of selection with one double click.

Great, great, great. Thanks. I already had it installed though, but also already got lost between all the plugins...

Another variation of these methods is to produce the rounded corner first by using Rounded Corners in 3D on one corner of a cube. Then just delete everything you don't need and create a circle then a cylinder from any of the quadrants that form the edges of the cornerpiece. Mate 3 copies of this cylinder onto the rounded corner and use the OuterShell command. Explode the resulting group and you're pretty much done.

@jean lemire said: BTW, the center of a square or rectangle created with the rectangle tool or with separate lines can also be infered with two consecutive midpoint inferences from two adjacent sides. I know. But it is not about finding centers. I learned 3D with Blender where 0,0,0 is more center than bottom left. [image: MKZF_toonsway.png]

@nickgenerator said: I am new to Sketchup and right now completely overwhelmed by all those plugins. Can I somewhere find a up-zo-date list where they are sorted by categories - modelling, rendering, import/export, etc. - and download numbers? Just to remind you all. Above is the initial post. As he says, he is new to sketchup and overwhelmed by all these plugins! Oh woe! He doesn't understand how plugins develop over time. He seems to expect to be informed to keep him up to date. He must think this is a sort of Acad without the cost of constant paid updates. Lazy or ignorant I reckon. I have a personal relationship with my plugins. I check for updates out of interest. I follow the development of a plugin out of interest.Mostly, I don't need 'em, (until I do). But it is fascinating to watch the ruby gurus develop a plugin with feedback from members. It is the beauty of SU and this forum. Would someone with more cred than me please address this issue, which I believe has the potential to destroy "3D for Everyone". I am reminded of a quote from John Brunner's book 'Zanzibar'.... ..." It's supposed to be automatic, but actually, you have to press this button".
