Yes Dave, it's a kitchen design with lots of components and groups. They are nearly all mine and are ok, I have not had problems with them before. I haven't looked at Solid Inspector so I will do so next. I assume from your reply thats its not possible for SU to 'tag' the offending items?
Thanks for the quick reply.

Find problem geometry after validity check?
Hi All
Is there a way to locate any items in a model causing problems thrown up in a validity check? The check lists the geometry by numbered edges etc under the 'show details' box, but only does this after supposedly fixing the problems. I have gone to save a file and the validity check warning came up advising of problems, I let SU fix it and then saved it . However on re opening the file and then saving again, the same warning comes up with the same geometry to fix. This goes on ad nauseum and I still don't know how to lcate the offending geometry. I did manage to sort it using trial and error but is there a better way? Thanks

RE: Importing Colors
I have never bought any, I find it just as easy to make them. Once they are made you can save it as a Sketchup texture and use it again. However a quick Google search came up with this site among others http://www.sketchuptexture.com/

RE: House model
That last one is really good, had to look twice. Ironic that we are using a virtual model to emulate a scale model of the real thing.

RE: Importing Colors
Yes you can make your own materials easily. Open the material editor and click on the box with the plus sign on it to create a new material.
Give it a name then check on the 'use texture image' box-this will prompt you to choose an image to use. Take care not to use too high a resolution image or it will slow the software down.

RE: Blender sketchup files importer
This looks great but I cant get this script to load into Blender.I have tried 'install from file' in the user preferences but cant see the script in the add on list. Do you know what it shows up as? I have asked this on the Blender artists forum but had know reply.

RE: Line overlay process?
Also make sure you create a scene in sketchup for the view you want, this will ensure your exported images will line up when overlaid. It is a good idea to export the linework image at twice the size and then reduce it by half in your image editor. This helps to smooth out the jaggy lines you get from a raw SU export.

RE: Slow image import
Hmmm... now I am having trouble exporting images too. Colours are all washed out. All drivers up to date. Have reported to Trimble, will update if I hear back

RE: Slow image import
Thanks TIG, I'm on Win 7 also but with a Fujitsu mouse which I do have issues with the driver dropping out sometimes. I will do a bug report.

Slow image import
Hi all,
I have started having trouble importing images for either texture or image use. They are not large files(300Kb) but the import is taking up to 30 seconds per file.
Anyone come across this before?
There is no problem if I import directly into material editor i.e. make new material and use texture image -
RE: PDF to Layout?
Inkscape, which is free, can be used to convert to .dxf. Tutorial here http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/426-pdf-skp-conversion
You can't import PDF directly into Layout, you would have to make a screenshot of the PDF and use that

Richard, only one comment on the websites.....Damn you're good!

RE: Feel free to kick hard....
clean and uncluttered, which puts across the ability to communicate efficiently- but is there a typo under the spaceship picture? Should it read Thea Render?

RE: Coffee time doodle Summer House
Sorry that came out a bit wrong. It was supposed to be jokey reference to that post that I replied to. I have seen the real treehouse before but your speedy demonstration of how to make it was impressive.

RE: Laundry render with Twilight
Good render in the end, lighting is great . Your first colour scheme is better but clients-huh, there's no accounting for taste.

RE: I need some help
Don't know about where there is a model but it looks similar to the Yellow Treehouse restaraunt in New Zealand. Where did you see the picture?

RE: Guggenheim NY
Clever, that looks like a tricky one to model. Great composition too. I watched movie 'The International' the other day, its good to see they have patched up all the bullet holes and repaired the glass roof.

RE: I NEED YOUR VOTE!!!!!
Just voted and I actually have looked at and like your blog. I'm afraid I avoid social media like the plague but will try to get some other people to vote. Good luck
