My snap in SU seems to be turned off. I can not move to a center or corner. Even with xray view, it won't find center or corner.

Also, If I hit the arrow keys, a bright red or green dotted line show, but my move is not locked tot axis. Can I have inadvertently turned off snap, and or axis locking?

Confused. I restarted my computer. It is still acting up.

Figured it out. Component came in and had to be unglued. then I could place it.

Restarting fixed the problem.

In Entity Info, I can not assign a layer to a selected group
In materials, I can not change from the color wheel to RGB.

both cases the drop downs don't show up.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I have used that page, and video by Brightman.
I have tried to insert paperspace with and without SU model reference checked.
The document I am inserting has text. Text does not come. 4 out of 5 tries I get an error, says "The following file failed to insert, naming the cad file path"

I continue to struggle to bring autocad into Layout. I back save to Autocad 2010. (Is that the right version, or does earlier work better?) I am running SU 2018. Sometimes it works sometimes not. Is there a tutorial to get it to work consistently?

Also, can I bring text in from Autocad?

My workaround is to print as pdf, convert to jpg image bring it in, try to scale it close. Seems like there has to be a better way

Your method worked. The hatch didn't clip, so I redid it. Thank you.
I agree with your pipe penetration detail, not as easy with a lot of them. It would
be nice to recognize a boundary with holes and hatch the whole area.

Also, a similar question, can you have a hole in a hatch pattern. Say concrete around a pipe in the concrete. Or a floor pattern around not through a column in the floor

Is there a way, similar to clipping mask for a viewport to clip part of a scale drawing.

I have a section in scale drawing. I want to have a blow-up of a detail in that section. The detail is there, I just need to hide the rest of the blown-up drawing.

Any ideas?

So struggling with LO.

Last straw for tonight. I followed your advice, I think. Inserted .jpg images. Then went to document setup, and unlinked them. So they are embedded. If I missed a step please advise.

Also really struggling with LO.

Nothing is intuitive for me. I pick a line weight and it changes as I start to draw. I start drawing with a line, if it touches another the other joins, and takes on the current line attributes. Then I have to cut it apart and reset up each piece. Very frustrated.

Are there any video tutorials on how to create working drawings in this program.
I use Brightman's Condoc. Just in LO need help from a professional that can coach how to use the program. I have Donley's and Sonder's books and have watched their videos.

No one really explains how to use LO.

To the best of my knowledge, it will only work if I uninstall it on the other, and vic versa.

How can I get it to work on two without the switching?

I am a one-man shop. I have a laptop and a desktop. Some of my work can not be done on the laptop, must be on the tower. I take my laptop with me everywhere. Looking for how to share a license with me.

My two suggestions are both very cumbersome. Run 2017 on my laptop, 2018 on my tower and back save every time I pick up my laptop.

Or, Run 2018 on both machines. Removing license from the one I am not on. Both require me remembering the required parameters, usually when I am tired, and under a deadline.

Does anyone have a better suggestion? Buying a second license for myself just doesn't make sense to me. Btw, I have one Adobe license running on both machines. Adobe figured it out to make my life easier.

When working in an interior model. Clicking out of a group is hard. Is there a plugin that lets you back out without leaving the interior space.

My current workaround is to have two scenes. One that saves active view "working", one that is outside the model "site". Clicking the second lets me get away from the group, click back out, then use the "working" scene to get back to my position.

Is there a plugin that fixes this?
