RE: [Resolved] Weird Behaviour
You are right Thomthom. It did occur to me that it might be glued but when I checked it wasn't glued. I probably right clicked on some other component in there and didn't notice...

[Resolved] Weird Behaviour
Here's a weird "bug?" Katalyn27 asked me to post about.
If you select the first D component and move it about L and A also move without them being in the same group or component, but you can move L and A separately.

Hereβs how Samsung flew bloggers halfway around the world, then threatened to leave them there

I think Samsung should pull out the big guns (they developed) and stomp the hell out of apple. Some cider should be nice.

Interesting..

A judge in Seoul ruled Friday that Apple infringed on two of Samsung's technology patents and must stop selling the infringing products in South Korea. In addition, the judge said Samsung infringed on Apple's "bounceback" design patent, but not its icon design patent.
The judges ordered Apple to pay 20 million won, or $17,650 in damages for each violated patent. Samsung was ordered to pay 25 million won, or $22,000. Both companies had sought damages of 100 million won, or about $90,000, from the other.@unknownuser said:
The patent-infringing products banned from sale are: Apple's iPhone 4 and iPad 2, Samsung's Galaxy SII and Galaxy Nexus smartphones, and the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy 10.1 tablet computers.

After all, when they made the Batman movies much darker and more sinister, look what happened
Btw....they're rebooting Batman again. I think they want to make a Justice League movie a la Avengers and they need to fit all the other heroes. Geez they've just finished the trilogy...

RE: Is anyone following the Apple v Samsung battle?
If Samsung had really paid Apple in coins....at least those 30 trucks worth...they would be my all time favourite company.

LOL that was quick Marian, and with reflections! Now I'm going to feel guilty if I don't use it.
Don't worry about it. It was simple to do.

nice model Marian, I'm sure Trimble would approve, but yeah it would of being a nice touch if it were a competition to design but come on, it's a logo, out with the old and in with the new, in my opinion this is a sign that Trimble are taking this software seriously and improvements are more likely than when it was with google, welcome it and look at it as a new era
Thanks .....yeah it's just a logo but it's too bland the way it is. I mean they completely missed the mark. It would have been better in Trimble blue, it could have been shaded and it could have been both shaded and had edges outlines like in SU. I have no trouble with the shape of the logo but with the way it was executed...it tells nothing about SU and in that red it does not convey any friendlyness.

Too bad I updated before seeing all the work they did was for the Mac...

RE: Trimble Version
I don't like this so called "professional" minimalist look that's popular today with companies... e.g. Microsoft's new logo is a joke...you mean to tell me that people really got paid for that?
The new SU logos are not as bad as that, but the old logo seemed more friendly and gave an idea of what the program does. The colours stood out but were not "screaming" at you.The new logo seems disconnected from the program it represents.
I think visually it looks ok, but it doesn't fit SU at all. First it lacks recognition, that can be fixed, second it doesn't show any clue as to what the program does if you aren't familiar with it, third the color just doesn't work.
They could have at least kept the lines on the edges or different shades on the faces.

Will this site be Trimblucation now lol?
No, as it wasn't @Lastucation or Googlecation before.

RE: Trimble Version
I'm not too fond of these new logos to be honest.

To be completely honest, none of the great samples shown in this thread would be possible without Plug-ins and painful long hours of recreating surfaces over and over again (work around's) until it fits. Right?
And you think that with other 3d apps you do it differenly? They may have all the plugin functions integrated but you still need patience and hard work to make cool stuff, in fact much more patience and hardwork to just learn the UI.
There is nothing wrong in having a simple and friendly interface that is augmented with mostly FREE plugins. Why would it benefit you to have a cluttered UI with all the possible tools and maybe just use 10% of them, instead of having a flexible UI?

RE: [Ongoing-Tutorial] How to make a car using SDS/Artisan?
You do most details in low poly. It's easier and faster, plus you don't have to detail with huge poly count all the time you are modeling. I keep the low poly and SDS version separate, I mean once I'm satified that all the details are there and the they work well with SDS I save it as a different file and smooth all the geometry.I normally put and "S" at the end of the name of the files so I know what it is.
Your mesh looks ok. You should separate and group all the geometry you want it to be glass, do the same with the doors, hood and trunk. Just take a look at my model in this thread.
