RE: Sketchup Details
Andrew is it possibble that you could share your texture maps if not the model. I think this would be very helpful in setting up a detail pallette of materials. The ones you selected are right on. Very well color and texture coordinated!
Although, I hate to create all these subcatergories if there was one that deserved one it would be this - "Construction details or Building construction".

RE: Free code checker?

This is really interesting and very appropriate for me. I work for a company that builds and markets software for the construction of garages, decks, and post frame buildings and coming soon houses. Our Design Tools product allows you to build, print drawings for stamping and as well take off professional estimates. We build in local sku numbers and as well the designs are engineered to local codes. There is quite a lot of data gathering required when ever we enter a new market anywhere in the world.Although I haven't looked closely yet as you can understand this application that you have pointed out could be a very large help to us in the data gathering process and a quick method of checking the designs that our render engine creates.
Thanks very much..this is an eye opener.

Free code checker?
Here's a site I found recently http://www.codecomply.com
I have not had a chance to test it out.
It appears to be site assisting in code analysis. Is anyone familiar with it?
I thought it might be useful. I will try it out when I get a chance.
Looks promising.lapx

RE: RE: cost escalation on building materials?
Thanks Kris,
Is this a pay per use with sweets, I will have a look.
Is Engineering News Record a good source? Just looking for alternatives. -
RE: cost escalation on building materials?
Does anyone know of a source for statistics about historical construction costs or projections into the future on building and construction?

RE: 2D Export > Export All Scenes?
Pre sketch up 5, I recall there was a free ruby version that did this.

RE: SU and Podium does it again
Solo for president! Hey solo nice model. I impressed with your speed and quality.
Did you design the landscaping or did they already have that designed. You design skills are amazing. Very well composed rocks, plants, trees seem to be very well placed.
Congratulations! -
RE: Help with Soap Skin Bubble

Here is a work around... just set the date on your computer back a year!
I guess I can do this temporarily, but it becomes a management issue of other time sensitive files, right. I wouldn't dare change the time or date in the encrypted file
How can we fix this to be legit?

RE: Help with Soap Skin Bubble
How much would you be willing to pay for soapskinbubble? It appears its not working. I thought it was a donation type situation. Something like $15-$20 dollars maybe would be fair I think considering google sketch up is free also considering top prices on smustard.
It is a nice program in some situations. I the architecture windowizer get's used more. -
RE: Changing exist text colors
Thanks TIG, Su guy's get to work. Is there a known list of bugs and fixes noted anywhere.
never mind... -
Changing exist text colors
I haven't used text update in awhile, and recently attempted to use select all leaders and screen text. Then update. Is there a bug? This used to work for me. Is there a new way of changing color of text globally?

RE: Help
Hello Perk,
You should try soapskin if you already haven't. It's as good as windowizer. What am I saying, there are a lot of good ones depending on the circumstance -
RE: Tensile structures
The bezier curve did the trick. I am already familar with soapbubble. These were the main ruby's scripts that I used to make this. Oh, also used line2cylinder ruby.

Tensile structures
How do you model a true tensile structure like this. I would like to be able to dimension it as well. I tried a curved mesh in plan. But each anchor has a dif elevation. The edges curve in 3d. This is the part i'm trying to control is the 3d curve. Any help is appreciate.

RE: Help
Perk,
I can't believe you do not use ruby's. Your modeling skills are superb. How did your final model turn out. This is interesting. Did you use follow me for all the tubes? -
Error msg help please!
I'm getting this error message. "...Missing some 2d grpahic exporters." I'm trying to export to autocad. Can anyone help here? Is there a way to solve this other than to reinsatll and loose my custom settings?
Thanks,
