Stay strong, brother. Talk often as you can, PM's available.

It sounds worse than it is mate, I am able, and going on an extended holiday to Moscow and Thailand to do a bit of diving. All my ailments have been treated very well. I am expecting a large 6 figure compensation payout in 5 days. So could be a lot worse👍

    • Any Australians on this site ?

Hi Guys I have not been very active on this site as I have been unwell. As an Australian member of the Australian Armies engineer emergency response squadron I and others were exposed to a chemical called PFAS (the forever chemical) in industrial quantities. It is now known to cause many serious issues. I myself have had 3 cancers, 2 heart attacks. and a stroke amongst other conditions there is an E petition on the subject of PFAS exposure .I do not know how many Aussies are on this sight (besides Box) But I thought I would post a link to the Petition If you would consider signing it if you are an Australian citizen.

      Thanks

    • Question about stable diffusion in sketchup

Hi Guys I have not used sketchup in a long while. I have a project with is a large park pavilion with very complex materials and patterns. As I said it is very complex. I have attached the materials pallet. I have 3 approaches and sone questions

Could stable difusion be of any benefit and how could I control the materials if it was a usable method

I was thinking of doing the tiles with geometry and stick them on the face

Try to produce the materials myself but I have limitations of the resolution

    • Genius building system

Hi guys I posted because I know there are many "Makers' here. I love this idea.
      https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0jpt_lSqRhw

It is an extremely cheap and can be built with very few skills. What excites me is that it is obviosley CNC manufactured so could also be manufactured with recycled with extruded plastic waste ...Win,WIN. For instance it could make plastic recycling for instance in India shelters could be built from waste plastic and at the end of life the house itself could be recycled to make mores houses. What a game changer this could be.

    • RE: Share models

Yes, you can upload a SketchUp (.skp) model to the 3D Warehouse for a specific recipient, but 3D Warehouse is primarily designed for public sharing. The best way to share with a specific person without making it public is to upload it as a Private Model.
Here are the best methods to achieve this:

      1. 3D Warehouse "Private Model" Method
While 3D Warehouse doesn't have a direct "share with user X" button for private items, you can use the private setting for security:
Upload & Set to Private: When uploading, under "Additional Attributes," select Private Model.
Limitation: Only you can view private models; you cannot directly share the link with specific people to download.
Workaround: You may have to temporarily set it to "Public" to send a link, or use the Trimble Connect method below.
      2. The Best Way: Trimble Connect (Recommended)
For secure, private sharing with specific individuals, use Trimble Connect, which is built into SketchUp (2024 and earlier).
Save to Cloud: Save your file to Trimble Connect (using the cloud symbol in SketchUp).
Share Link: Generate a view-only link to the project.
Permissions: You can control the level of access to those you've shared it with.
      3. Alternative: Private Collections
Folders: You can create "Private Folders" to curate models that only you can see.
Collection vs. Folder: Remember that "Collections" are public, while "Folders" are private.
        Summary of Sharing
Public Link: If you upload publicly, anyone can download it.
Private/Shared: Use Trimble Connect for secure, named recipient sharing.
Key Takeaway: If the goal is truly private sharing with a specific recipient, use Trimble Connect. If you just want to hide it from general search, use the "Private" upload setting in 3D Warehouse, but note it is difficult for others to access.
