@pixelcruncher I always find it odd... every designer I know uses a Mac? I shall keep an eye out. Thank you.

RAYSCAPER NOT LOADING
Not sure what to do now. Still deciding on a render engine to replace Twilight, but Rayscaper will not install when downloaded. (See image) I have also tried installing SketchUcation Tools, but that is not showing up either, and which is apparently required for Rayscaper to work? Running OS Sonoma 14.5 Thank you. RE: Old Extensions and SU 24
@TIG Thank you. I downloaded a free trial of VRay before seeing your reply. It does not seem too difficult, so I am giving that a shot. Pity about Twilight though... I really liked it. This project, since time is a factor, I will probably have to create in SU 22, since the SU24 exported file is not as said ad nauseum - (sorry) working with Twilight in SU 22. I will then see if I can handle VRay over the trial period. At least it's exercising my brain.

RE: Old Extensions and SU 24
@TIG Whoops! Sorry gentlemen just double checked. My iMac has the M3 chip. Brand new.

RE: Old Extensions and SU 24
@TIG Thank you very much. However, I use a Mac and this seems to be for Windows? I believe the M1 chip is an Apple SoC so did not specify that I was using Apple products.

RE: Old Extensions and SU 24
@Dave-R The file opens in 2024, but when you try to use Twilight - i.e. place lights which of course is the first step, there is no reponsonse. So what's happening is creating the file in 2022, no problem - Twilight works as expected. Create the file in 2024, Twilight is not even enabled on that machine because of the incompatibiity with the M1. Save the file in 2024 (no option that I see to save it as a lower version) and then open it in 2022 on the intel machine with Twiight, Twilight just digs its heels in. Once I swith to another file on the machine though created in SU 2022 on it, Twilight smiles and accomodates.

RE: Old Extensions and SU 24
@Dave-R I tried 2022, but for some reason, and even though I gathered the problem was Twilight vs the M1 chip, Twilight won't work with the file. It works if I create the model in SU 2022, but not in the exported file from 2024. Any advice on a replacement for Twilight? I also used LightUp back when I was doing this on a regular basis, but found the results of Twilight softer and more realistic. Thank you.

Old Extensions and SU 24
Thought I was retired. Gave up SU Pro. Got a call from an old client who would not take no for an answer, and said he would pay for the Pro version. So... back in the saddle. However... Many of my old extensions and to include Twilight Render, no longer work with my M1 chip. I have been juggling files all afternoon to see if I can create my model in 2024 on my new imac, save it and reopen in on my intel based imac so I can render using Twilight. So far no luck. Is there a way to save the file in 2024 to an older version of SketchUp? I don't have the time to learn a new rendering process now and I really loved Twilight. I also don't know which would be a good addition for rendering when I cross this hurdle to get, that does not have a steep learning curve. Thank you.

Where are my autosave files please?
SketchUp used to save my autosave files in the same folder as the file I was working on. Now, it seems to not be saving them at all? I have searched everywhere and can't find them. Autosave is selected under preferences and I even changed it to every 10 minutes, but no point if I can't find them. Does anyone (Apple) know where to find them please? Thank you

EUREKA!
Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!But not rid of me - sorry. Pretty sure something else will crop up, but for now... and the deadline for this project (just the first component) is for a two o'clock meeting tomorrow. I think I'll be SAFE!

When you make changes to your installation of SketchUp, e.g. by installing another extension which adds new functions or changes licensing, then you do need to restart SketchUp to sync everything.
On a PC each SketchUp you've launched is a separate instance so subsequent launches should show the changes in the newer SKP that opens, BUT on a MAC there is only ever one instance of any SketchUp version running an any one time - so potentially with multiple SKPs open, so unless you close and restart your MAC's SketchUp, any changes from an installation are unlikely to be seen until the relaunch of SketchUp itself...
You can't expect changes to SketchUp when installing extensions/licenses to magically happen without pausing to relaunch SketchUp - particularly when you are a MAC user...Thank you. Same story with a lot of Photoshop plug-ins for the most part. Right now I wish I magically had a Xanax! I should finish this project tonight so will shut it all down and try again in the morning. Thank you all, ALL for being so patient (although I can't see your faces - providing such excellent support. To be cont'd...

RE: FREDOSCALE LICENSE
Rich O'Brien - Close... A wedding! And still a way to go and then they will say "Oh... and can we please have 1,000 crystals hanging from the orchids, and it's now 300 chairs, not 252." I have to find a better way to pay the bills.

RE: FREDOSCALE LICENSE
Dave R. and Rich O Brien - Check and check. I had checked the restrictions while trying to troubleshoot this problem. And I wish I could shut down SU now, but I have several files open that I am working on, and this baby that I have to finish today. All I can do now is to wait until I get this done, hopefully tonight, and try again tomorrow morning. I just don't understand it though as I have never had a problem installing plug ins and extensions. This is a first for me. Dead in the water as they say. And I have already paid for the licenses for the Fredo extensions. Sigh...

You can see the version number in the dialog when you launch it in SketchUp...
Or in the Extension Manager dialog....
If you don't see it in the Extension Manager dialog its not installed.
Bingo! And there we have it. That is the problem I am having. The new version of the
SketchUcation Tools (new name I guess for the store?) is downloaded and in my downloads folder, but I cannot install it? When I go to Extension Manager and attempt the "install," SketchUp just laughs at me and does nothing! Usually when I install a plug-in, it will tell me that it has been installed and ready to use, but in this case it is not showing up in the list of installed extensions and no notification that anything as changed. I have never ever had so much trouble updating or installing anything. -

The video is old. Just install Sketchucation Tools using Extensions > Extension Manager...
Now you have t login to your sketchucation account in SketchUp so click the 1st toolbar and when logged in yo see this. Click the search icon and install whatever extensions you want...
To license FredoScale etc just go to Tools > Fredo Collection > FredoScale > License...
Now navigate to where in your device you saved the .scflicense file we emailed you for FredoScale and validate it
However... when I select "install" nothing happens? I also have no idea how to check to see what version of the Extension Store I have installed? I have googled it until I am blue in the face, but can find nothing. I really hate having to come here so often and display my ignorance.

RE: FREDOSCALE LICENSE
I am so confused. Looking at the video on "How to install the latest version of Sketchucation Tools," (How is that the Plugin Store?) but it is showing me to go to Window>Preferences. There is no preferences under "window" in my version of SketchUp? 22.0.353? I am not a quitter, but I give up. And now to feel my A-fib kick in! AHHHHHH STRESS!!!

RE: FREDOSCALE LICENSE
Thank you Mr. O Brien, I have now purchased the $40 license via your link. I have received them via email, but I still cannot figure out how to get SU to install the what they call Sketchucation Tools (not Plugin Store). I am doing what is directed in the instructional video attached, but as said... they are saying to go to Window>Preferences and there is no Preferences under my Window drop down menu.

RE: FREDOSCALE LICENSE
No - not using 2016 Make. SU 2022 Pro and I updated that on my profile several months ago when I was asked that question, but somehow it did not stick. Did it again. Going back now to follow your instructions. Freaking out a wee bit as I did not expect this and working on a deadline. EEEEEEK!!! and AUUGH! Thank you

FREDOSCALE LICENSE
Still posting in the Newbie forum a zillion years later because some questions just seem to have no category that I can figure out. But today... HELP PLEASE!! In the middle of a render (work not play) and to find out that I now have to license Fredoscale. No problem... but I need to use it like NOW and I cannot find where exactly I go to purchase this license? Hoping that someone with knowledge is monitoring this forum. Thank you
