You can see the version number in the dialog when you launch it in SketchUp...

      https://i.imgur.com/S0GVQkV.png

Or in the Extension Manager dialog....

If you don't see it in the Extension Manager dialog its not installed.

Bingo! And there we have it. That is the problem I am having. The new version of the
SketchUcation Tools (new name I guess for the store?) is downloaded and in my downloads folder, but I cannot install it? When I go to Extension Manager and attempt the "install," SketchUp just laughs at me and does nothing! Usually when I install a plug-in, it will tell me that it has been installed and ready to use, but in this case it is not showing up in the list of installed extensions and no notification that anything as changed. I have never ever had so much trouble updating or installing anything.

The SketchUp Extension Manager does not pop up a message indicating that the extension has been installed.

The Sketchucation Tool will do that. Again, the Extension Manager will not.

Try quitting SketchUp and restarting it. Then check to see which version of the Sketchucation Tool you have installed.

I don't have a Mac so I can't say for sure as to why its not installing.

If you check your loading policy is it set to unrestricted? Not shouldn't be ab issue as our Sketchucation Tools .rbz is signed.

Maybe someone with a Mac knows if there's a permissions thing like Windows has that can prevent users writing to the plugins folder?

If you go to your plugins folder do you see a folder called sketchucation and a file called sketchucation.rb?

Dave R. and Rich O Brien - Check and check. I had checked the restrictions while trying to troubleshoot this problem. And I wish I could shut down SU now, but I have several files open that I am working on, and this baby that I have to finish today. All I can do now is to wait until I get this done, hopefully tonight, and try again tomorrow morning. I just don't understand it though as I have never had a problem installing plug ins and extensions. This is a first for me. Dead in the water as they say. And I have already paid for the licenses for the Fredo extensions. Sigh...

If you can't get it to work we can refund you. That's not a problem. Just email support@sketchucation.com and we'll get it sorted.

When you make changes to your installation of SketchUp, e.g. by installing another extension which adds new functions or changes licensing, then you do need to restart SketchUp to sync everything.
On a PC each SketchUp you've launched is a separate instance so subsequent launches should show the changes in the newer SKP that opens, BUT on a MAC there is only ever one instance of any SketchUp version running an any one time - so potentially with multiple SKPs open, so unless you close and restart your MAC's SketchUp, any changes from an installation are unlikely to be seen until the relaunch of SketchUp itself...
You can't expect changes to SketchUp when installing extensions/licenses to magically happen without pausing to relaunch SketchUp - particularly when you are a MAC user...

Rich O'Brien - Close... A wedding! 😎 And still a way to go and then they will say "Oh... and can we please have 1,000 crystals hanging from the orchids, and it's now 300 chairs, not 252." I have to find a better way to pay the bills.

Thank you. Same story with a lot of Photoshop plug-ins for the most part. Right now I wish I magically had a Xanax! I should finish this project tonight so will shut it all down and try again in the morning. Thank you all, ALL for being so patient (although I can't see your faces - πŸ˜› providing such excellent support. To be cont'd...

But not rid of me - sorry. Pretty sure something else will crop up, but for now... and the deadline for this project (just the first component) is for a two o'clock meeting tomorrow. I think I'll be SAFE!
