RE: My First Podium for Mac Renders
wow! i like it a lot! i suggest that you change the color of the sky, maybe with photoshop so you don't have to render once more.

RE: [REQ] Displacement ruby

RE: Shadows dialog won't come up.
if you don't have it, just download it again from http://www.google.com/sketchup/download/

Hi Malaise,
I have rendered your robot. It is a VERY quick an dirty test.
Will need more time to fix few things in guip.s. I couldn't attach avi directly
how did you do this?

kt and podium have the same ENGINE !!! but obviosly kt has more control and is eaasy to learn ( whit a friendly and helpful forum ). so i suggest KT , it has lots of render presets and u can also change the presets .... lots of control over the material settings ....
also KT has unbiased and biased render settings..cool material! would you share some more details?

I can only repeat what others already have said... Very nice indeed, but what about the render time..??

so what render engines support this displacement mapping then? i want to tinker!
KT2008 doesn't...
But we're working on it...

What is displacement?
Check this out...
i want displacement in KT so much!!! i could also pay for it!

what are you waiting for? -

cool!

Thanks remus, yeh the texture mapping messed up on the handle cause it's projected. I wanted to do a 360 of the teapot but it just wasn't possible. I still feel the image could have been displaced better, it still resembles a normal texture too much (but thats my fault for choosing the wrong texture). Still can't embed the video unfortunately..
[flash=widthxheight]http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=xQWBCS3XtBE[/flash]you have to substitute "widthxheight" with something like "425,355". also you have to turn this "watch?v=" in "v/".

RE: The SCF Guides to Post Processing [TUTORIAL]
what happened to rob? why this topic stopped?
-
RE: The feature you use least
i agree with remus, i never use the outliner, though it sounds like an useful tool.

RE: Hotel Ballroom
really nice renders!
only crit about the last three: there's a strange blue color on the cutlery and the glasses doesn't look very realistic: in a real glass you can see through it. -
RE: Shadows dialog won't come up.
well, to solve the problem you have to open the sketchup installer file and choose "repair".

Thanks Julius
Is Kerkythea more complex than Podium?btw 500x500...
Bye bye - Ciao
i think so, but i'm not sure since i've used podium only a few times. podium is a plugin for SU, while Kerkythea is a separate application.

Hi Dylan
Thanks
You're gonna see a lot of photovoltaic power plants from now on in here
What rendering program would you suggest me to start with? Maybe Podium?Bye bye - Ciao
i use kerkythea. but i think to start rendering also podium and indigo are good.
the thing i like about kerkythea is that is really powerful and it's free. podium is good, but i think the highest resolution for the free version is 500x500.

Hi Julius
Yes, it will be built (at least i strongly hope our client will accept our project) in Italy.
I'm glad you like it.
Ah yes, another thing: if you wanna a photovoltaic power plant please contact meBye bye - Ciao
yeah, i want one on my balcony
seriously i think there should be more photovoltaic powerplants here in italy. -
RE: Apartment floorplan
i really like the render!
do you mind to tell something about the lights you used? did you use the sun? -

Nice tut
I hope you dont mind if i offer one tiny weeny little improvement you could do to speed up modelling the tyre...if you find the centre of the tyre before you delete all the segments, you could then do a rotational array about the centre to avoid having to do all the rotate and copy stuff.
remus is right: to find the centre try the "set centre point" plugin.
really good tut by the way.
