RE: I want this ...
well, im still sticking with alienware's octuple core monster with 4 terabytes of memory.
and yes juju, it will run crysis, very very well. -
RE: I'm stunned
are you kidding me? that is supposed to look like she's a terrorist!?!?!
btw, nice one solo.who thinks that all the lawers (and their customers) need to take a chill pill?
-
RE: Things that really piss you off
i second the movement against above link. will those lawers take a chill pill and lessen up on copyright stuff? i mean seriously? illegal to travel with your ipod or laptop?!?!?! do you know what that would mean for the teenagers and bussiness men of the world? please dont let this be like when mp3's first came out and all the lawers were freaking out about copyright stuff and put DRM on everything. then everyone went to peer-to-peer services and the lawers got even more pissed. that pisses me off. and do you realize that if everyone would stop completely freaking out about copyrights, no one would try to pirate movies and make infingements. DUH
DRM = Digital Rights Management

RE: Mission style cafeteria
hey, nice models.
are those mountains in the background from just random photos you found on the interweb, or did you take them yourself? if so, where? they look suspiciously like the mountains near my house.
if this is too personal (ie, giving away where you live on the net), you dont have to answer. i was just wondering. -
RE: Just messin'
oh, and where have you ever seen shiny bricks in real life? im guessing never. and what is the purpose of a render? im guessing that its to make a model look REAL
just kidding, if you like shiny bricks, go ahead and use them. i was just nit picking. its what i do. im the kid that annoys the teachers with "uh, mr./mrs. so-and-so, there's a typo on your worksheet".
im sorry if i sound like your mother, what with all that nagging!

RE: Help -- how do I do this
yah, just make some guides using the tape measure tool (press ctrl while you're using it, a plus sign will appear next to it) or use the offset tool.
oh, and i know that you're annoyed, but please try to watch your language. some people might find it offensive. (i acctualy dont mind, but im just speaking for those who do.)
good luck with that house!

RE: SDS & FFD Abstract Sculptures with Interesting Textures
no! dont stop! these are awsome. i especialy like those last ones, they remind me of glass with stripes of colored glass inlayed with it.
and if you cant find the time to learn how to render stuff, just use podium. its as intuitive and easy to learn as SU. plus its pretty dang fast.
i serriously need to get this pluggin. -
RE: Stonehenge Project
remus: have you taken some of solo's modeling prowess? when i saw that render, i hade to serriously ask myself "is that a photo, or a render?".
the only thing i can find that separates it from realism is the grass. though i really shouln't be talking, since i cant make grass yet (i know you use clip maps, but thats the extent of my knowlage)
well, when i looked at solo's "terrain" topic, i thought i had seen my "Oh My God that is the most insane thing i have ever seen" model of the day, but this just topped it (sorry solo). -
RE: Procedural terrains
excuse me a sec while i pick my jaw up off the floor.
that is the most amazing terrain model, or any organic model for that matter, i have ever seen.
that was a genius idea to use the terrain tool + subd and smooth. i never would have thought of that. you have, once again, succeded in making me feel like a begginer. -
RE: Library
two words (or is it hyphenated?): omni lights
-
RE: Villa ویلا
uh, wait, hold on a sec. let me pick my jaw up off the floor.
that's an amazing render majid, well done!
my only problems with it are in the details:
the roof top seems to be weathered (grime and stuff coming down), but the rest of the building looks brand new.
and yes, the pool water looks like its frozen over.but, all in all, thats a great render. better than anything ive done. keep going!
-
RE: Just messin'
hey, looks good. i tend to notice all the tiny things so here is what i found, maybe you could find soulutions to them.
the brick on the right most wall is shiny
the yellow light reflecting on the floor is still noisy
the light from the window is to harsh, but needed to light the room. try adding some interior lights
needs some anti-ailiasing, esp in what looks to be windows in the upper right.thats just me and my render-prefectionism OCD (just kidding, i dont really have OCD) . but the render looks great overall. good job!

RE: Things that really piss you off
hey, are you making fun of my thread? (even though no one replys to it anymore, but whatever)

RE: Pipe Dream from Animusic :-)awesome
DOOD! i love these guys! i mean the animusic people. i have 3 of their videos on my ipod (and they look wonderful on the 3.5 inch widescreen). the secret is, they dont make a video and then overlay the sound, they actualy program it so that when object A hits Object B it makes Sound 1. to the sound takes care of its self. its pretty cool. try checking out "future retro" and my personal favorite: "drum machine". just try to find them on youtube.

RE: The telectroscope
you are right alan, same people that did sultans elephant. and no, its more complicated than a giant webcam with no sound. use the link in my first post, you'll see
-
RE: The telectroscope
seriously?!?!?! no one's interested?!?!? doesnt this sound realy cool?!?! can someone reply?
please? -
The telectroscope
hey, this is REALLY cool. its called the Telectroscope (say "tell-eck-tro-scope"), there is one in England and one in New York and they allow you to see whats going on at the other one!
like, suppose you are at the brooklyn bridge. you can walk allitle and get to the new york telectroscope. you can actualy see, in real time, whats going on at the telectroscope at the London city hall. and whats cooler is that viewers in london can see the brooklyn bridge and viewers in NYC can see the tower bridge. here is the link:
http://www.tiscali.co.uk/telectroscope/
i think we should arange all the SU enthuziasts in the states to fly out to NYC, and all the british users go to London and, well, you get it. it would be a great chance for everyone to meet. but there's no audio, so you cant talk from NYC to London. but many people use white boards to communicate. ie: write on the white board, hold it up for people on the other side to see, wait for other persons responce, rinse, repeate.oh, one little thing, i think it closes on june 15th.
so we'd have to arange this fast, if anyone wants to do it. anyone with me?

RE: Prism problem
here is my way: (note that i didnt read all the posts, so someone might have already said this)
make an equilateral triangle. since its equilateral, all the angles should be the same (60 degrees). copy-rotate it (rotate tool + ctrl) up 60 degrees. and then you...opps, i just checked to see if my method would work, i doesnt. <insert homer simpson esque "d'oh" here>. sorry for taking up space with a non-helpful post
and i have now looked at the previous posts and realized you have some very good help. good luck!

RE: Library
i dont know. to me, all the flat white walls make it seem kind of soul-less, especialy since this is for "young children". a little bit more "warmth" would bee apreciated. both by me and the future users of the room.
