RE: Hand drawn art.
aw, c'mon remus! even if you dont think its good, someone out there will think its really cool. besides, you are probably suffering from what i call the "driver's license effect", where you think you look really bad in you dirver's license picture, but everyone else looks great. i've found the same thing translates into art: you think your drawing stinks, but everyone elses' looks awsome. see what i mean?
my scaner is refusing to work, so i will have to hold off on posting stuff for now, but i want to see everyone else's sketches! it could even be a painting, as long as you can take a pic of it or put it on a scaner.
PS: dont worry if you have driver's license effect about your drawings, practicly everyone else has it too.

RE: Living with Moore
i personaly like the first textures better, even if they are a little distorted.
-
RE: Hand drawn art.
seriously? No one on here draws with pencils and paper anymore? I did say that this was open to anyone, didn't I?
don't be afraid! Post something! More of my stuff is coming soon. I just have to scan it into my computer.
So post something! Gaieus and I both think its a good idea.BTW, I'm posting this from my iPod touch, so some speeling mistakes are inevitable.

RE: Render #22 (animation test bottom page 8)
so let me get this strait, you had to render EVERY SINGLE FRAME in that animation?!?!?!?!?!
holy crap! that must've taken forever!!!
great animation BTW -
Hand drawn art.
a place to put your non-su works of art. not pixels and bits, but pencil and paper. if you're comfetable with it, you can even post poems (i wont be doing that, im not much of a poet)

maybe Elisei will be inspired.

RE: Telly Classics !
i said that in my post.
i just know someone will say "no you didnt!"

RE: Living with Moore
thats an interesting if impractical housing method. looks great, though the projection on the stone arches is making the texture bend and it doesn't look very realistic. could be fixed easily, but i understand that these might have just been some quick models and the details werent focused on as mush as a full on project.
honestly, i think it would be pretty cool to live in that house. great job!

RE: Car renders,WIPs&videos
hey, looks good! the car looks like a audi TT/BMW 3 series mix, and thats a good thing,
the only sugestion that i have for this car is to tone down the grille. it makes the car look unbalanced, the front looks too big and the back looks too small. this is especialy apparant in the first render in the second post up from this. and try to ad a subtle spoiler on the back deck, the rear looks kind of... empty. you tottaly nailed the sides and roof.great job!

RE: What do you look like?
unfortunatly, my parental units forbid me to give out any more information on my self other than "i live on earth".
and besides, im not that photogenic. (or howerver you spell it)
i am howerver, about 50% british, so atleast i look half good.
im sorry if that was a little offensive, but atleast you guys have cool accents. i wish i had one. seriously. in america, having a british accent makes you seem smart compared to the red necks (and bush. well, anyone looks smart next to bush). -
RE: Telly Classics !
here's another python sketch, albeit an abridged version:
wait a sec... how do you get the video embaded in the post? mine wont work! wahtever. i'll jsut post the link

yes, this is the sketch in kwist's avatar. and i just know someone will post after me saying "no it isnt!" -
RE: Materials for drum shells
thanks for the reply remus. i want it to look like one continious peice of wood, witch you above method would not produce. i will keep trying though.
any idea on how to do a sparkle finish like this one: http://www.pearldrum.com/07-edit-site/combo/masters-custom-mast.jpg

Materials for drum shells
hey, im looking for some textures to go on some drums that im going to make in SU (im a drummer, 4 years of practice). i would really appreciate it if someone who knows drums as well as i do would help me out here, but anyone else is fine too.
i also have another question. how do i get the texture on the drum without stretching it. like when i project a texture on to a cylender, the edges get all streched. in my 4 years of drumming, i have never seen a drumset finish do this, nor would i like to. the only method i can thik of to solve this is to devide the shell into 4ths and project the texture seperatly onto each section.incase you didnt know, the shell of a drum is the part made out of wood (sometimes acrylic).

RE: Pixar
jon, like you, i was not thinking of applying. thank you for making me and my skills feel inferior though. (sarcasm)
and, although ruby scripers have made scripts to make bezier "curves", they will never be able to make a ruby to make actual curves, like in blender and rhino. SU simply does not work like that. there is absolutly no such thing as a curve in SU. period. just like there are solids modelers and non-solids modelers, there are curves modelers an line modelers. SU is a non-solid line modeler.
-
RE: Pixar
yes remus, i would have to agree with you. both on the iWonder and the whole pixar thing.
and solo, SU cant make curves. i thought you would know that. like when you draw an arc, its simply made up of a series of perfectly strait lines arranged in a way so that, from a distance, you eye compounds them into a curve.
-
RE: How is this possible
@ tom harvey: i think that the b&w "pictures" are renders ( ), mainly because they are just too clean. specificly, there is no dust, no weathering, no signs of use. in other words, it looks too real
-
RE: Pixar
@remus said:
iwonder
is that apple's next product?
that is interesting, especialy since SU cant make curves. iwonder why they would use it for hi-quality movie making. maybe they just export it to rhino or blender.
the qualifications sheet that Jon posted is suprising to me, especialy sine most of those things apply to me. but hey, why would pixar hire a 14 year old?

RE: Tweening help
isnt macro media flash able to do tweens? i know its mainly used for stuff thats more cartoon-y, but it might work.
-
RE: Someone grab a Wii and get Ruby-ing.
i think he wants us to try to make it inter face w/ SU. i dont think it'll work. unless the wiimote can sense depth of field, it wont work
