how did you get such beautiful wood paneling? i mean in terms of projecting it onto the building (a really good building btw). did you project it at an angle (set up a face at a 45 degree angle instead of flat front or back)? like this:

      ../ __________
      ./ |.building.|
      / .|________|

the three slashes on the left = face from witch the texture is projected
box = you guessed it, is the building.
little tiny dots = nothing, just ignore them.

      am i right?

      nice one boo
you realize that the photo could easily be photoshop? a pretty good photoshop at that, but there are clues. like the usual "picture of the stick guy falling down" is not visible be hind the stream of water (a little convinient, dont you think?), even though the edges of the picture would show on the sides of the water stream. plus, this looks to be shot somewhere in asia, and alan lives in the UK, so i dont think he shot the photo himself. and, if it was in asia, why would the caution cone be in english? i'll examine it closer and post more.

did you take a picture of this yourself, alan, or did you find it on the interweb?

      oh, and btw, LOL

    • RE: My mouse has gone crazy

tried that, didnt work. but you guessed right. i can hold the mouse upside down so the ball doesnt move and the thing still keeps freaking out. i think it has to do with the computer or the conection, because it only happens on the y axis (up/down). thanks for the help

      more details on the mouse:
      roller ball
      made by logitech
just a flimsy piece of black plastic with a couple of sensors
      wired
says its a "PS/2 compatible mouse" PS/2 being the kind of port, not a game console

if you think you can solve the mystery but need more info, i can give you more advanced info, like driver manufacturing dates, ect

      thanks again!

    • My mouse has gone crazy

not a living mouse. i mean computer mouse. its the on that came with the computer anc its not a USB mouse, it has its own special cable. what happens is, just out of the blue, it starts freaking out. jumping up and down the screen randomly. and only on the up/down axis, never left right. and some times, it just gets stuck at the top of the screen, as if someone had a second mouse and is constantly puching it strait up faster than i can move it back down. i belive that a brocken java script does this, since it happens allot when im web surfing, but it will happen other times without warning, no firefox neccesary. any ideas?

    • RE: Simple Donut?

isnt that a turbo? like for cars? basicly an exhaust driven fan that boosts preassure in the cylenders and there fore boosts speed and efficiency. am i right?
good luck with it, what ever it may be.

    • RE: Here's why

cause everyone knows that im a critic, here is my opinion:
i personaly dont like the whole "tuner" thing. but thats just me. you guys go ahead and enjoy yourselves. but i do think that pav's car is kind of tasteful in its presentation. no sponsorships and grafix covering every square centimeter of the paint job, the front bumper doesnt scrape the ground, no 50 inch wheels that are so big you can barely turn the car, ect. Pav's car is short, sweet and to the point. reasonably sized rims, a tasteful paint job (good color combo by the way) and by the looks of it, high enough so that it can go over speed bumps.
      good job!

    • RE: Using SP for class project

in the same project i got to make a tennis ball cannon out of PVC pipe (i go to an awsome school). basicly how it works is : i stuff a tennis ball down the 5 foot barrel (about 1 and a half meters), then me and a friend pump like heck on a bike pump to fill a compression tank, then wee stand back and pull a cord wich pulls open a ball valve wich releases the air in the aforementioned tank, producing a loud "phooooom!" and sending the tennis ball an easy 100 feet (30 meters) in the air. it is now my weekend toy. i used SU to design part of it.

    • RE: My first few renderings

hey, looks great. the first one has a really "busy" background. but hey, its your first render. if you ever remake the magnum, make it 3d, not just a 2d plan extruded with the push/pull tool. the water is great. infact, everything after the water is right on the money.

      great job!!

    • RE: What do you use?

i use the biggest crap-box dell has to offer. <sarcasm> with -1 cores, 0.005 gb of RAM and no grafix card, it was just made for gamming, rendering, and making high poly models. </sarcasm>
it also has only 15% of its hard drive space left, so it crawls when trying to open anyting, especialy Photoshop and ilustrator ect.
      i want alienware.
