Glad to see that KT has a dedicated, jealous team. Its the only render app I have touched since 3d Studio (which version was that...?), now 3ds MAX.

How is it that I can't see the animated avatar? My profile display setting has everything ticked.

Shaun, that's quite a bundle of joy you have there. Congratulations to a new father, from a recent father (before I became a father, I didn't know how to share the joy of new parents ). So you moved while your wife was pregnant? That must have been quite an effort.

Isn't it a coincidence that we have two concurrent car topics which have something else in common? TATA Motors. The same company which have just launched "the world's cheapest car" is also financing the R&D of the MDI Air Car (see 'the world's cleanest car' topic).

Just in case anybody is interested, I have replaced my font file (see a few posts above). For whatever it is worth, that would be the official version 1. The lines and curves are much smoother now, number of nodes (control points) have reduced, file size is even less and kerning is okay.

I had been wondering what my hand lettering would look like as a font. I am posting a work in progress and wondering whether it is worth fine tuning it further. Critiques welcome. Please note that pair kerning does not seem to be working right yet as far as my tests show.
Do you guys and gals think the slightly irregular curves gives it a more natural hand drawn feel? Or should I smooth it out?
Cheers,
Guite
PS: .ttf is not allowed as attachment, so please refer the zip
Edit: Font file replaced.

Coen,
...but I meant the number of forums (26!) and their associated icons.
Jackson, you have hit on something I have been thinking. For instance the sub-forums are confusing me: opening the Corner Bar brings up The Pool, Fit Club and Gadgets. Certain sub forum heads will not generate much topic/thread, so I think it best not to have too many of it. Instead there can be one repository which will take in all topics not covered by 'existing' heads.
Just my 10 paise,
Guite
Yeah! FontCreator is the program I had used to generate the font posted above. I am aiming to finish (in my free time) two fonts within the trial period, but then I might not!
Maybe scan quality or some import setting, I had to tweak the curves a lot in FC. That's so time consuming that when it's time to finetune the font (bearing, kerning, etc.) I lose interest. Apparently it does not recognise vector linework from other programs and still trace it as if it is raster. Anyway good software.

FWIW, I have had tech support messages bounce back, too, which is highly annoying!
Hardly what you would expect from big corporates. Recently I typed out my feedback (displeasure, actually) on the ABN AMRO Bank website contact form. Almost immediately I got an e-mail from their postmaster saying the message was not delivered because it was too long. It included an attachment of my message in .txt format which was less than 1 kb!!
Nothing like the intimacy of small companies, if you know what I mean!
I am still on v5 for various reasons. 3D modelling comprises just a small part in our office work. So even though v6 is installed in our workstations, it's hardly used. Since I don't model much these I also don't get much time to familiarise myself with the workings of the new features. And if I don't learn the others don't, because they learn from me. I would love to tryout photomatch someday.
Moreover, reading about the reported problems/bugs with v6 is also putting me off from adopting v6.

...put the top two on soft light to enhance the colours.
Robmoors,
This might seem a dumb question, but would you mind explaining to someone who uses Pshop for only very basic image editing? Is it one of those layer blending options? A few steps will do.
Thanks,

Unfortunately most of these fonts do not support "international" characters...
Gaieus, sorry about that, it was intentional on my part . This is just a past time for me and to include all the international and special characters would mean, apart from doing the actual linework, studying up all all its usage so that I don't goof up on placement of the characters. Which mean a lot of time input.

Yet I like them, too (and thanks for sharing this one, Guite )
You are welcome, and thank you for the kind words.

most of my projects have a sculptural approach (no "form-follows-function")... this is the starting point... then I begin thinking about how to give those forms floor-plans and interior design that make sense...
Franziska,
I empathise with you when you talked about following your dreams. Because, to me, having seen your SU images and read your posts, you should have been an architect. You have the making of it.

I like that. Type out some mumbo-jumbo and hit "Enter" (wasn't it called "Return" those days?). Makes you look smart!!
Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm on PC @ home and office.

Why, Edson, do you think it is better to dring underthe table?
That got me laughing so hard my chair shook, typo notwithstanding!
Back to topic, CONGRATULATIONS Marne for the diploma. Best wishes for your future.

"Hungry (Hungary)?... Is that a country?... I have heard of Turkey..." That was funny. Thanks Gaieus (is that an 'i" before an 'e' or an 'e'...?) for a good laugh.

Thanks, Bruno.
Thanks, Paul. Wouldn't you have loved to be in a position now to ask him and share in his pride of being a part of aviation history? From your description and the photograph, he definitely had a part in the Concorde production, IMHO, after all not everyone gets to access and keep that kind of photograph.
Guite
I had posted Concorde models in the Google SU forum earlier. After that TRMC (registered name in Google SU forum, registered by a different name here) sent me a high poly 3ds model. The models I am posting now is a simplified version of that 3ds file, but more detailed than the one posted in the GSU forum. I took liberty with the wing profile w.r.t. the 3ds model.
Hope someone likes it and add to their collection.

PS: I tried hooking up kdjanz's server but my OS (MS XP SP2) wouldn't give me 'Add network places' option. So I am uploading directly.
I like the subdued highlights (specular) in the first image, it makes the floor tiles and the entire scene look very realistic.
