      hi TIG very handy ruby thank you, in testing i noticed it wont change a material that has been applied to a back face to another material, however changing "ALL" materials does.

      is this difficult rubie to make?

      as a matter of interest Vray's SR1 clipmaps dont translate to reverse face of geometry that has transparency assigned to it... so this rubie will be more considerable more handy than just something some guy wants... xfrog, evermotion, and onyx trees all use transparency maps on leaves (not as many with the evermotion stuff but thats too hi-poly anyway)

      hey thanx for the quick response

      the most ive work with rubie before is opening the consol wondering: "what the hell is that for" then closing the thing...

      so i opened my model, isolated a leaf, pasted ur code in there... now what?

      Dear Rubie Script writing people
      im having some problems with some plants ive imported that have leaves maped with png images, the one side is mapped correctly and the reverse has that same texture on but is very small and incorrectly mapped, so i go about picking the texture of a face on a leave(where there are about ten faces to a leaf) then orbiting around the geometry and dumping that texture on the reverse side of that face, which mirrors it perfectly, however it takes an incredibly long and this method is only possible for smaller plants as correcting hundreds of leaves will take years

      the same thing happens with a file that has Maxwell render region set, even i dont have maxwell on my machine i still have the grey (see through) bars on the sides of my screen idicating the render area... kinda handy actually

      hey wow awsome plugin, thanx for posting, is there any way to reverse the triangulation of the faces, i noticed that once smoothed the and as you rotate the form it gets very jaggy at the edges and you have to go in there with the flip edge tool to smooth it out... any way around this within the coding?

      awsome script, i can think of quite a few things to use this for. but i have a suggestion/request

      1. could we also get a version where we can devide the action? so it fills in the instances between a move and rotation?

      2. for tree branches this would be awsome if we could taper the size of instances or even have some kind of size randomizer on it.

      but i think the first request is more important... thanx for the script

      i agree a dream come true, i think the worst thing i could have done going into architectural 3d was start with sketchup, its ease of use and intuitive navigation has spoiled me for any other 3d apps, the huge leap to learning C4D/max just seems too much to fit into my schedule, friends of mine who work in Max and see me work in Sketchup have said that the makers of Max could learn something from sketchup and for a long time ive wished for mixture of max and SU, this [Bonzia3d] seems to be that combo,

      a quote from the website: "...and then be able to advance to the next level of detailed solid modeling"

      that next level is all im after, however i agree with Biebel that it had better support external Renderers ie Vray otherwise i wont be too impressed...

      another quote: "...can be smoothly rendered, animated..." so maybe it wont be so bad.

      i for one look forward to trying it.

      looks like your having a caustics/refraction proplem there, remove the refraction layer from ur glass material and u'll get a nicer spilled sunlight effect.

      the subdive and smooth plugin set has a tool that does what ur asking for however u cant control how much it extrudes (which is a bit silly really) it just extrudes a bit to give you those extra faces then u have to manually drag it to the legth u want

      i think it would be a nice addition to the knife tool (or zorro) to have a free hand function, to quickly create this type of scenario (and others like it)

      this would go nicely with the subdiv and smooth plugin and lessen the divide between "max-like" organic modeling and sketchup... perhaps where you select a face active this control and a axis like toggle thingy apears on the face and you can move it directions perpendicular without having to reset all three sketchups axis...
