RE: [Plugin] Sculpt Tools v 1.0...
In the initial post by BTM he seems to give permission for alteration/fixes.
the specific tool i want is the smooth brush, which works very much like the 3ds max relax brush, essentially just averaging out the distance between vertices to variable strengths.

RE: [Plugin] Sculpt Tools v 1.0...
poo, is there any way to get the relax brush out? i do a lot of site work and it super helpful for fixing ugly meshes

RE: [Plugin] Sculpt Tools v 1.0...
checking artisan it only seems to have a relax selection function is it possible for anyone who is savy with ruby script to pull the smooth brush out of this set and make it available for 2015??

RE: Recent Stuff :::
added the raw render of the bush lodge to show the extent of the photoshopping.
Ice T: its Sketchup, 3ds Max and photoshop
Gordon: its just thatch texture from cgtexture, i think what makes it convincing is the highlights at the thatch eave ends, also from cgtextures and painfully mapped in SU.

RE: Recent Stuff :::
Thanx again all
Ice T: its all photoshop i will go and dig up the raw render so you can see the extent of the post processing that went on there.

RE: Recent Stuff :::
Artgrl: wow big question... there are a few reasons, the first one that come to mind would be concerning production, max/v-ray are production tools made for visual effects industry (so it facilitates all the intricacies of a profesional workflow)im sure Vray for sketchup is well on its way to becoming a comparative tool, sketchup cannot compair to max, it doesnt have to, nor does it want to
Im not being very specific cos i dont want to rattle off a list of allll the things max can do that sketchup cant but if you just go look at a making of tutorial on evermotion that deals with rendering and post production, you will see why they use it.
another would be ram, vray for sketchup is tied down to sketchups 32bit-ness, so never mind the 16gigs of ram you might own...
srx: you only need 1 tip: practice but feel free to ask any questions, i would be glad to help/advise.

RE: Recent Stuff :::
thank you, all foliage is photoshop (its more process friendly) except for aerials, rocks are done in Sketchup, cos max isnt nearly as much fun as sketchup.

RE: Day And Night :::
here i am im still around... sortof, Holmes was right i have moved on to Max but i use SU every day, if i couldnt use sketchup i would quit 3d, i browse around forums like CG architect and Evermotion and Ronen Beckerman but dont post much because there isnt really a forum for professional work, by professional i mean work done for a client within a budget and deadline. mainly these websites feature hobbie works, while they are incredibly good, they dont quite qualify as Arch Viz, so it becomes pointless to post as i have no time for hobbies
i suppose a good ideal to aim for would be to close the gap between hobbie work and professional work.
But since my last posts ive done alot of work so maybe its time for another big collection gallery post let me just finish this one im working on.

RE: 3D vs. Billboard Trees and People
we have quite a few bought people and plant libraries (and some won libraries from competetions) however my favourite libary is my general folders which consist of free and manually cutout people, from site like vyonyx and archiforge and kropped.com, theres even quite a few on the warehouse that u can rip from the models posted on there. for trees however they are often to low res to use as a feature element.

RE: 3D vs. Billboard Trees and People
Hey presto!!
my thoughts on entourage is: photoshop photoshop photoshop. i only ever use 3d people for distant aerials otherwise i use dosch top people (and there are a couple others) which is photos of poeple taken from a higher angle.
3d plants is fun but not very flexible so i would suggest a mix of 3d and photoshop vegetation, the 3d plants should offer a good example of how u would treat the photoshop plants light-wise. and personally i find it far more satisfying to have a good render with photoshoped vegetation rather than 3d. also 3d plants really cant fit into the high pace of a professional work flow.
i draw personal inspiration from MIR (http://mir.no/) when it comes to enterage, i think they have it spot on, u can even see eddie murphy in a couple of renders.
at the end of the day however it really is: "practice makes perfect" however tedious that might sound. ive had quite a bit and still feel im far from the MIR quality, because once you think you mastered one aspect of the rendering process (entourage) then u feel u need to work on another (lighting and environment)but then notice ur initial process could use more work. so progress is slow...
Thom: im still active, i'll do another big gallery post soon, if i posted all the time it would become "Old Hat" nothing special.
Focpt: in max u have object properties where u can specify invisible to camera, im not sure how vray for SU has advanced but the way i used to do it in SU was to place the tree billboard then on the face facing the camera apply a 100% transparent material so that its "invisible"

RE: [Plugin] Superglue
Im good, you? and nope, i speak max and sketchup sketchups just too easy to completely throw out of ones workflow.
check out the company blog http://www.constructmedia.co.uk/news will post some new stuff soon
