      this would go nicely with the subdiv and smooth plugin and lessen the divide between "max-like" organic modeling and sketchup... perhaps where you select a face active this control and a axis like toggle thingy apears on the face and you can move it directions perpendicular without having to reset all three sketchups axis...

        Yes. That is something we still miss in sketchup and which would be very useful.

        (That together with 'soft selection' of polygons: auto selection of polygons when you hover over them with the mouse. And using the '+' button to 'grow' the selection or '-' to shrink.)
