    • RE: Measure light - interior daylight study

      Hi tsomek,

Could you please share 2-3 screenshots of your Vray render that you think is normal and too dark/bright? So i can have a sense of your scene. Using only sun should be okay for this kind of interior case.

I think if you're going to include different seasons, it should be normal that renders will be darker (in winter) and brighter (in summer). For example, we often use artificial lights in winters in daytime. Thus, you should avoid tweaking your settings between scenes, in order to achieve more realistic result i believe.

I haven't used but this free plugin looks like measuring stuff you might need: http://sunhoursplugin.com/ (or this: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=53660)

And here are some procrastination from me 😆
      I set this example on 23.June.2017 (UTC -4) for 9am-12pm-15pm .

I don't think there is any official manual for OSX at all. (I might be wrong though)
Settings and their places more or less should be similar.

    • RE: Straighten curved lines 360 panorama VRAY

      Hi,
Your image is perfectly fine for a 360 panorama. You can test your image here if you wish: http://www.dermandar.com/share

To straighten your horizon, you can use 'Hugin' as cotty mentioned. You can download it here: http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

Here is how you do it:

      1- Load your spherical image.
2- Go to 'Move/Drag' section. (Apply 180 Yaw if needed) Simply move and drag the image. Hold shift for straight dragging.
3- When you're done and want to export, go to Interface>Advanced then 'Stitcher' section, adjust your canvas size or image format if necessary. Click stitch!

    • RE: Higher Resolution Causes Jagged Edge

      Hi peerman,
Yes, Ted's reply solved the issue. I made the Render Time = 0 and that solved the problem!
I wished when i make it 'High Quality' preset, it automatically brings down the render time setting to 0 ...

In the meantime i by-passed the problem by using bucket rendering.

    • Can't disable or hide V-ray Mesh Clipper

      Hi everyone,

Once 'V-ray Mesh Clipper' is applied to a geometry, it's not possible to disable it. Unticking the 'Enabled' feature in asset editor doesn't seem to work. Adjusting other settings works fine.
Also when i hide the geometry, it still cuts the model but without the section being capped.

So, is it just me or do you experience the same problem as well?

      I use Sketchup Pro 2017 (Version 17.1.174) 64-Bit and Vray 3.40.b2 beta
      OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I also asked this question on Chaosgroup and awaiting a reply: http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthread.php?92804-Can-t-disable-or-hide-V-ray-Mesh-Clipper

I tried it on a scene here but didn't notice any differences. Are you using pure white (255,255,255) for the walls or sectiongeometry? Maybe that could cause some errors?

There is no section or vrayclipper in this case, just a scene on top of ceiling looking downwards. And ceiling backface is default vraymtl with opacity set %0. Here i applied a brown material to show the ceiling plane.
I tried changing colours but it didn't fix anything.

    • Higher Resolution Causes Jagged Edge

      Hi everyone,

When i try to render higher resolutions, renders start to get 'jagged edges'. I got some test renders to show the issue (I use default high-low preset feature of vray 3.4 beta, also AA filter option is on with Catmull Rom):

      https://cdn-enterprise.discourse.org/sketchup/uploads/default/optimized/3X/f/4/f4647a614d4e33da482b60b62abe15cfd1752869_1_540x499.png

(Images on top are rendered as a whole room, then i cropped them in GIMP and brought them together.)
The weirdest thing is when i use 'region render' feature on 'vray frame buffer' , render looks just fine. (See below image)

      https://cdn-enterprise.discourse.org/sketchup/uploads/default/original/3X/1/8/185bac2235cb57c48a346781bd7207618a0186c6.png

Seems like the problem is about antialiasing (AA) or my graphic card but i'm not sure how to solve it.

Note that updating my OS & graphic card didn't solve the issue.

      I use Sketchup Pro 2017 + Vray 3.4 Beta
      OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD 5450

      Hi Ted,
      I'm from future 🙂
having the exact same issue in vray 3.4 Beta (Sketchup Pro 2017). Any progress or plans to add this feature in the official release?

      - or you already added and i'm blind ? -
