Good point. I have a keyboard shortcut for your PurgeAll and use it frequently. I should have mentioned it but I wrote that at 4:25 am before my coffee was even brewed.

@frv said: I was trying to use the soapskin & bubble tool but it does only seem to generate a flat surface. After that the tools seem not to have any effect. Maybe someone can help me see what I am doing wrong. Tx Francois you have to enter pressure values ( neg or pos) to get the surface to inflate

Hi, there is no best advice unfortunately. The best way i found for me is to project or to drape a line of the proposed road on the terrain. Then i select the line piece by piece and weld it. Then i use the FollowMeAndKeep tool to generate the profil of the road along the line. Then i remove all the overlapping faces of the terrain and use the sandbox tool "From Contours" to modify the terrain step by step. The result almost looks like a real street, but not quite. From Acad export it as 3ds. in the export options turn off the Autosmoothing. Importing this 3ds file into SketchUp will give you much better results. If you don't have the option of exporting to 3ds in your version of AutoCAD, there is a free plugin file available at Autodesk web site which allows you to export it to 3ds format. Hope this helps With best regards PRSS

You say you have to work on heavy 3D projects, if this mean that you work with SU professionally than I wouldn't recommend both cards. SU is using OpenGL and the better option then would be ATI Fire 8700 or NVIDIA Quadro 5500. These graphic card have full OpenGL support and better drivers. They do cost a bit extra but it's worth the extra money. It doesn't matter which one you choose, they are both very good for 3D modeling and rendering. You can check here for a review: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/workstation-graphics-charts-2008/benchmarks,3.html Check here for SU and OpenGL: http://download.sketchup.com/OnlineDoc/gsu_mac/M-Technical_Reference/Tech-OpenGL.htm
