Why are there missing controls in the Dialog Box?

• Missing textures

Sample 1 shows a 3d model with textures & materials while in Sample 2, when I inserted a matched photo, only some line edges are shown with my SU v8. I opened the same file using another computer with SU v6, it shows normal with all the materials being shown properly. Has anybody here have encountered same problem as mine? Is it OS problem or SU settings or Vcard problem?

Have you checked the security permissions for these folders/files? ...
And that they are actually what they say they are?
Windows can put things into 'Compatibility Files' folders without telling you, but display them as if they are really where you intended...
This can happen if you don't have FULL security permissions to the Plugins folder and its contents etc...

Otherwise I am at a loss... any others want to chip in ??? πŸ˜•

Hi again TIG,

I don't quite understand by compatibility files, though there are a few folders there but most are working properly except for 1 or 2.
I have no problem I think with permission since nobody else uses the pc and I believe since I owned it, I am the Administrator of the PC.
Should I worry whats inside my Compatibility Files?

The drop-downs in the dialog are populated from the files available in the tool's folder.
If there are no files/folder then it'll be empty...

As I understand it you should have the following files/folders in your Plugins folder, mimicking the files/folders that arrive in the .zip file...<!-- ia2 -->Plugins folder level.PNG<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:2oakbtin]<!-- ia1 -->Plugins+ProfileBuilder folder level.PNG<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:2oakbtin]<!-- ia0 -->Plugins+ProfileBuilder+Libraries folder level.PNG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2oakbtin] If you have additional .plb files these should go into the 'Libraries' subfolder.

Hi TIG,

All are in its proper order and all accounted for but still the webdialog appears empty.
Sigh!

Thanks!

I recommend you update to the latest service release of SU8 - got lots of bug fixes.

As for the plugin, can you post a screenshot of your plugin folder?

Ok, already downloaded the latest SU. Unfortunately still the same issue.

Here's my Screenshot of my SU8 Plugins Folder

Folders:

Examples
Ocean
SketchUpBIM
SU_Podium_V2
Utilities

Ruby Scripts:

examples.rb
ocean_extension.rb
SketchUpBIM.rbs
SU_Podium_Browser.rbs
SU_Podium_V2.rbs
SU_Podium_V2_Render_All.rbs
utilities.rb

Didn't made a screenshot as there's only a few of ruby plug-ins as I am trying to eliminate the probable rb in conflict with SUBIM.

Thanks!

Still not working for me 😞.

I've downloaded the plugin, saw the icon, have a dialog box but when I click on the drop down it's empty, click the buttons in the Profile Builder dialog box with no response.
Unload I think possible plug-ins that might create some conflicts like the housebuilder and building structure tool but to no avail.
Any idea would be welcome.
Thanks!

Hello,

I don't believe there are any conflicts with those plugins. I have heard of the issue you are having before. It might be due to your Internet and Javascript settings. Profile Builder uses web dialogs which use javascript.

If you are using Windows, open Internet Explorer and try going to Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

Hi,

Already did what you suggested, still the same problem. Sorry & thanks.

Hi,

Tried to make this plug-in work but I really can't.
I already reinstalled my SUPro 8.0.3117 to scratch, installed only SUBIM as plugin but still no luck.
Running in Win7 64bit.
I have SketchUpBIM.rbs and subfolder SketchUpBIM in my Plug-in Folder.
Also did Preferences/Extensions but didn't find any SketchUpBIM there... I only have: Ruby Script Examples, Ocean Modeling, Utilities Tools, Dynamic Components, Sandbox Tools, Solar North Toolbar, Photo Textures as choices.
I just dunno what else to do now.

I have this problem, I have already searched here in the site, I just don't understand how to enter these coordinates N 68d01' E at 153.66 meters? I just don't like to use my acad then import it to SU. If only I can do it in SU alone. I dont need the height to input the coordinates. Thanks in advance guys! πŸ˜„.

@gaieus said:

Hi Etong,

These blocks are on locked layers (to "double make sure" they are not altered incidentally). Go to your layers dialog in the tray, unlock the little padlock icon (I cannot remember if it's a simple click or double click) next to the "every page" or what layer, make your changes in the title block and if you wish, lock the layer again.

So it is not a bug actually but a feature change - maybe due to user input about changed/altered title blocks. Some feel safer this way while others think it is more tiresome to do it like this (as I read user feedback). I can imagine the dilemma of developers - "now which would be best for users?"
πŸ˜„

Thanks Gai, you got me here first, I just read your other post re this topic and it solve my problem. I was about to edit my post to inform that this topic is already not needed hehehe, I guess you are quick. Thanks Gai! πŸ˜„.
