RE: Hypershot Renders
Hi there Ibon! I wish I could help bro, but I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything I can think of.
It's a shame, because I am getting really nice renders otherwise. I just have to pick an HDRI or position it in a way to not display the shadows. Either that, or import the vector shape of my trees into sketchup and add the texture to that so that I get a better shadow. That would be a lot of work with all the plants and trees in my collection! Here's a shot where I had to hide the shadows.

RE: Quick simplified Dennis Technique for newbies! [Tutorial]
Thanks! Good tutorial.

Sacred Circle
Just playing. This is basically a series of spheres copied along a curve, mirrored and rotate/copied around a central axis. I would've like to make do more to it, but as my poly count hit 850K, there wasn't much else I had the patience for. I'll use tube along a path next time.
Turntable animation was rendered in Hypershot.
And the animation
BTW - how does one embed a vimeo video? I tried and it just showed up as code.

RE: First displacement test
Great work mate! I am very impressed with Maxwells use of displacement. I am going to try and recreate with Vray, but I doubt it will come close.

RE: [REQ] follow me rotate
Yes, Wikii, it would be nice to share with us the ruby you've created. I tried to translate and navigate the BBS page and even tried to register in order to have a try with the ruby, but with no luck. Telling us you've created this ruby without sharing is such a tease!
I could really use this for one of my current projects. Thanks in advance. -
RE: [POLL]: If SU 7 will not have multicore/high poly support
I don't think anyone here truly wants to leave SU as our core modeler. In reality, I think we all just want to see the fulfillment of true potential. It's time for a blossoming evolution of inevitable development.
The "people" have been working diligently to modify the go kart into a competitive race car. As we pull the race car up to the starting line, all the other "big name" cars look over and snicker. We'll show them! As the checkered flag drops, our beloved "hell on wheels" leaves all competitors in the dust. The fastest of the fast! Our machine is made for speed.....streamlined and efficient. We are lapping the competition. Going into the turn on lap 7 of 50...we start to loose speed. Slower and slower she gets, until she grinds to an abrupt halt. And there she sits. Out of gas. Out-matched, out-classed and humiliated. One day we'll beat these guys.......one day.

RE: [Plugin] Double line
Didier,
Thanks for the plugin, it's great! Any plans to incorporate a double line function for an arc type tool as well?

RE: Lada 1600
Yes, thanks Modelhead. Great explanation. I fee a lot better informed about HDRIs!

RE: Lada 1600
Hey Prince, check out this for HDR creation and manipulation. http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/index.html I've been using this a lot lately and just love it. For $55, you can't beat it.

RE: Hypershot Kitchen

Nice Adam! Do you have an closed space, or did you removed some of the walls?
It's just a box with two door size opening to let some more light in. I'm going to try to play with more interior architecture and see what kind of results hypershot is really capable of. I think there is some real potential there for architectural renderings....and it has yet to be really shown.

RE: Bumblebee
I'm sorry. This is a warehouse model. (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=98daaefd46f1eccd710d19e6a3ac9789&ct=mdrm&prevstart=) I wish I had the talent to model something like this. The render was done in Hypershot and the post processing done in Dynamic Photo HDR.

Hypershot Kitchen
Here's a render I was playing with to test some of my specular maps in Hypershot and also to see how the HDR light did with illuminating through glass. (That's why the first is so dark) Also, I know the field of view is a little distorted in the first one, I was just trying to get as much into the scene as possible. I thought others may be interested in the results. Overall Spec maps did a good job. Normal maps were used in the bump slot. First one took 2.5 hours because I jacked up the passes and ray bounces to 32. 2nd one took 7 minutes with ray bounces set to 3. I think you can see the difference for sure.

RE: Hypershot Again
Stefan, nice job with the Mustang! You inspired me to give it a try. I finally found it for download and had a go myself. Notice the detail on the tires.
As far as the kitchen goes, I found that you can really get some great bump effects in Hypershot, but you must use Normal maps and not your regular grayscale bump maps. Play with the bump height and you'll get good results. For the kitchen scene, adding specular maps will really make it pop. Good job though.

RE: Evening castle....
Beautiful! When you say Max, you mean 3DS? Is this rendered with Mental Ray then?

RE: [REQ] Select Tools (Inverse & Polyline)
Thanks Pilou and thanks TIG. I missed that then.
