I gotta admit, SilverShadow, the SketchUp team is mighty impressed with your work!!

You have been a star this week! Honestly, it really pumps us up to see this kind of work!

Thanks for sharing!! ...I think extra good code was written in you honor! πŸ˜‰

Wow, that's an honor for sure! Maybe SU7 will have soft shadows, a.k.a silver shadows.

I'd imagine it's tough for the development team, when they see all the evolution that has occurred by the users and the ruby coders. I'd imagine it's a lot of pressure to make sketchup even better than what Whaat, Fredo and the other guys have done. I personally wouldn't mind if sketchup stayed the same from a toolset/ruby standpoint.....just give us multi core capibility, high poly handling and better shadows.

      Ibon,

I did some quick trial and error with the pool water material that is under the "other" section of the material library and got a decent result. I changed the settings as follows:
      Alpha - .05
      Reflectivity - .5
      bumptexture tile s - 0.15
      bumptexture tile t - 0.04

Oh, and you're right about the mouse wheel. It's confusing at first, but I got it to adjust the perspective. Thanks!

Actually I figured it out. Alt+ Middle mouse button is just for zoom. Alt+Right Mouse Button (while moving mouse left to right) will change the "dolly" which apparently changes the field of view. I'm testing the HDR light source now. Thanks again!

Thanks my friend! Funny thing....I was just reading this on the Bunkspeed forum. You're explanation is a lot more clear.

One question for you....do you know how to change the field of view to create a perspective?

Thanks again Ibon for turning me on to Hypershot. What a cool, fun and easy program to use. It's a shame that they don't support artificial lighting, displacement or clipmapping. Here's a few quickie renders of things from the warehouse. (Actually, these are just screenshots from the program's real time rendering)

Which version of Hypershot are you using? The stuff in their gallery is simply amazing. I see that you can import .skp files directly. I might have to give it a try. It's a shame they don't offer trial versions.

Wow bro, you could've fooled me into believing those where photos of my son's lego models. Great rendering. Never heard of hypershot....I'll definitely have a look after seeing these renders. What kind of setup and render time did you incur with these?
