RE: 3d warehouse
Re: SketchUp Warehouse
Postby Aerilius » Sat Jul 09, 2011 9:04 amHi,
have a look at this:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/sketchup/thread?tid=74deeae241b00f82%26amp;hl=enIn general, the purpose of 3d warehouse is sharing and the ToS imply that what you want to do is allowed. For a detailed and correct interpretation of the Terms of Service, you would need an attorney. Best is always to ask each modeler to be sure if he is ok with redistribution (you can contact the owner by clicking on the model page on the envelope icon next to the author's name).

RE: How to obtain Sketchup Make 2014 free for hobby only
Thanks Dave R. But, will 13, 14, or 15 revert automatically to the free version?

RE: How to obtain Sketchup Make 2014 free for hobby only
I used 8 for awhile and then it got corroded. I downloaded it again, installed it, and it only lasted for 4-6 hours. after that, it wouldn't open up at all.

What does "Make" mean? That one can use it without the export options such as dwg and dxg?

RE: Light - Inside of a Building?
Dear Hvanessen,
Thank you for trying to help me. I have an old computer, now running SU 7, etc. Rendering takes ages ... and I want light inside of a building. Is it possible without rendering?
-
Thumbnails
Thumbnails don't appear in SU 7 anymore. File/Open/View Menu/Thumbnails
-
Personalized Workspace
Is it possible to personalize the workspace. For example, to remove a few buttons from "the standard toolbar"?

Light - Inside of a Building?
Can one have light inside of a skp model (for example a building) - before rendering?

Your picture suggests that you have nested groups. Have you enabled receive shadows on all the levels of nesting? A nested object will not receive shadows if its containing group does not.
That's a good observation.
@djh, you might try exploding all your groups and components to see what happens.
You say, though, that copying the model to a new file fixed the problem. That might indicate you have a corrupted file.
It probably is a corrupted file.

Sorry, I don't know what nesting is. All objects are on Layer0. I exploded all of the objects, but the shadows still don't appear on the objects.

it's possible you've fiddled with the shadow light & dark settings..

I did fiddle with them. Then, I fiddled with them again and again, but it only affected the shadows that were present. It didn't seem to restore the shadows on the objects.

In the shadow settings dialog, have you unticked On Faces?
Yes, but it didn't help. The only method that helped was to copy and paste to a new file.

Most likely as Box said it is about the style you are using, in that case you could go to Window/Styles/Default styles and pick Simple style, and check the shadows back on. It should work.
Didn't help.

RE: Shadows on ground ... but not on objects
One way to fix the problem is to copy and paste as a new file - the shadows are on the objects too.

RE: Shadows on ground ... but not on objects
I tried to upload the model, but it says that it's too big to upload. How can I share it with you?
