RE: Problem in twilight Render
Are You using the demo version? If so, this is the demo's restriction.

RE: Change unit in export option
Why not using eps or pdf? SketchUP can export 2D geometry in these formats - make sure You are in parallel view when exporting. I checked and dimensions were exact.

SketchUp and Inkscape
I played a bit with importing geometry from Inkscape into SketchUP. The best way is to remove first the strokes in Inkscape, save as dxf and import into SketchUP. Little cleanup and here we go:
And there is a OpenClipArt Library

RE: Autocad 11 vs. Sketchup
Not really - where I work they have it and I tried hard to get use to but no way! To slow and uncomfortable and has a lot of tools that I don't need. Rhino has much better tools for work with curves and huge import-export options!

RE: Autocad 11 vs. Sketchup
Yes, it is good but AutoCAD's performance in 3D is nightmare! And the interface is also very slow - i mean the palettes and dialog boxes are slow and clunky! Try to import some mesh data and you gonna kill it! There is a 30 day demo - try it! I think that the professional and expensive 3D card is a must with AutoCAD! But when I open the same model in Rhino and it is flying ...

RE: Fredo's Stretch and surface area
Thanks Fredo. This has been asked in a Russian forum for a help - it is not mine. I'm gonna ask for the model and post it here.

Fredo's Stretch and surface area
When using SketchUP's scale tool to change the size of a component the surface area changes in the component's atribute, but when using Fredo,s stretch to do the same nothing happens

Python
Saw this for Rhino - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y_6bo8Je7I&feature=player_embedded
Is this possible with SketchUP - Python for SketchUP? -

where i can find some application to get great renders?
Sorry to say but what you are looking for is a 'magic button', a great render starts with a great model, then needs great textures, great lighting, great composition in order to be a great render.... well at least this is how it works on my PC.
And You forgot a capable render engine with appropriate settings
Maybe You have a some kind of "smart" computer that does this for You -
RE: Fredo Scale question
That is normal - stretching creates a unique component.

RE: Editing imported models in 3DS MAX
The best editing program for the SketchUp's files besides SketchUP is SpaceClaim - as far as I know
