I asked the question on both LumenRT and Tree factory forums if trees made in Tree factory can be used in LumenRT (with animation), yet to get an answer, do you know?

If you ever get an answer to this question, please post it. I'm using LumenRT, too, and was wondering the same thing.

So if you buy $199 for Vue Artists and CG Artists for $99 you get everything that's in CG Professionals for $300 instead of the $495 it's advertised at. save 3 plants. Hmmm?

$100 increments for maintenance on the top 3 systems... $100,$200 and $300.

Whoever priced this did it pictorially and not by any sense of cost and effect.

In the Designer, and Converter versions, plants can be exported for use in other software only as static meshes (will not animate such as responding to wind - I believe they will animate, however, in Vue). In the Artist version, plants cannot be exported. Also, in the Designer version there are more plants and plant components (for creating new plants).

Perhaps they had a * down their hiring announce where they said "During the interview traumatic experience may occur ! " so they are ok !

Whether they were actors or "real" people, I am sure they were compensated for appearing in a commercial.

Ken, your work is fantastic. It would be nice to see all these buildings assembled in a scene.

Nice. Looks real. Are you making these wooden objects, or just modeling and rendering them?

    • RE: New skyscraper design

One of my earliest projects as an intern was a small office building, and it wasn't discovered until the end, as the client was moving in that the building didn't have any phone jacks. At no point did I, my employer, the contractor, the electrical subcontractor, the developer, or the client notice this omission! ๐Ÿ˜ณ But phone jacks are a far cry from an elevator in a skyscraper.

The last university project I worked on the first thing the construction office did was check all my drawings for brick ties - it seems on a recent, large project the architect forgot to specify wall ties on the brick veneer (and apparently no one noticed until during construction).

I guess that is why the insurance is called errors and omissions insurance.

    • RE: Anatomy of an interior wall

I'm not familiar with building practices in the UK, but based on your image I am guessing it's similar to the US. Generally, wood studs are pre-cut to a certain length - when combined with the bottom plate and two top plates, and then drywall installed, the desired 8' (or 9' or 10') ceiling height is achieved. Unless essential to whatever the wall finish is, typically the studs (verticals) are not placed symmetrically, and are spaced 16" or 24" on center from one end or the other, and extra framing for doors and windows added as needed (the standard 16" or 24" spacing is useful for determining location of the framing when the drywall is installed and the framing is hidden from view). The horizontal blocking would only be installed if needed for installing millwork (cabinets) or such. It's not clear what will happen with the chimney breast - will it be built in front of the wall? What's it made out of? Is the fireplace a pre-fab insert, or solid masonry?

Nice rendering, Jason. The built-in ovens seem to have lost their detailing in the rendering process.
