I like this chair indeed .Just two things.

1 How it looks when folded
      2. how much weight it can carry, since it depends on what look like some natural fiber rope.

I think some regulations are there pertaining to weight capacities of chairs, as I knew someone penalized after the chair broke breaking the back of the user.

Nice design, Im a fan of no screws or nails. (or at least not visible.). Looks easily buildable too... Is this meant to be foldable?

Wow... you got your imaginations working well. How did you achieve the dirt ? It's great but I would try to kind of randomize the dirt on the wall.. but overall , great render!

Tadema is right. Still very raw. Even in the very initial stage of design, hope you are considering context. Try to imagine this on the site you are eyeing, and you can judge it from there. But hey good start!

    • Color matching from image map ?

HI everyone. Is there plugin that can actually copy the RGB value of a colored texture image by color picker?? Say, I have wall paper texture, somehow, I want to copy the color (not necessarily the image but just the RGB, so I can apply in another object.

My problem really, is Im having hard time matching color using my eyes, I guess Im really color blind.

The way to do it of course, is open in photoshop, color picker, then write down the RGB value, and finally, manually type in the RGB slot of sketchup material. Sometimes Im too lazy to do that.

Interior design has lots to do with colors, and right colors could make a huge difference.

      I hope its possible.

Guys, I love to use IES lights all the time, and I remember when it was hell to me to set-up v-ray. Spend many hours on the web, trying to find solutions. I got A hint on Nomeradona's awesome blog, where it was something about units. The long-short story is, I work in mm, but when I'm using IES lights, just before I hit the render button, I switch the sketchup units to inches. I don't touch the IES parameters. Everything looks correct.
      Here is an example:

Is Vray still on inches by default? Will it not adjust automatically, when you change units.

The solution you shared here is fine, but once I need to revise the model, I have to again go back to my mm settings in order to be precise. and then switch back to inches again to do a test render. That sounds more than a little inconvenient.

    • Nudge objects plugin?

I wish there's a plugin to move objects (even selected edges or points) using arrow keys...locked to x or y or z with the possibility to move it finely by pressing down lets say ctrl key.

Mover tool can be a good substitute in which you need to click on a virtual arrow keys but it moves only groups and not points or edges...

the convenience of arrow keys still cant be beaten- sometimes moving objects using mouse is a pain as it snaps or jumps or sometimes moves in the wrong direction

I think functions like this can be a good addition to jiminy-billy-bob's Layer panel..
example: merge layers, erase layers, group layers..just like photoshop as he intends,

    • How do I make objects in a component to be in one layer?

Do we have a plugin to make all objects in a particular component to be in one layer?

I have downloaded a model from 3d warehouse where it has a layer for every single object inside it. What I dont like to do is to get to the lowest sub-level of each object and change the layer ... Or if Im not concern about keeping the grouping, Id just explode it._ But I dont like to do this .

In trying to keep the number of layers to a minimum, (like when you import a CAD file for example with 30 + layers)I hope somebody has made such a plugin for this which I may not be aware of.

    • RE: Modern bathroom rendering, looking for feedback

This rendering has a good potential to look realistic. Oh yes, its a bit dark. Try making the basin with more faces so it will be smoother. and finally try adding up some accessories cluttered on the counter. Its nice overall.. but 14 hours I think is a long time for a render of this quality.

    • RE: Latest Work: Exhibition Space

Render is good..Looks real but I think a few things can be refined

      1. The near objects can be more detailed.. In real life there are few objects with this sharp corner- even 1 or 2 mm round corner can help.
      2. The AC Grille.
      3. and of course the human model. Otherwise can be mistaken for photo.
4.The ceiling tiles bump looks too strong- but maybe thats the designof the perforation.

      Good JOb!

    • How to archive my SU file with all the vray links

      Hi guys.

Im just wondering how to archive a skp file with all the vray attributes in it. If I transfer my file in another computer, the materials are preserved alright, like the reflections and refractions but the external files like bumps, reflections map are lost.

even the materials sometimes lost its other properties.

Is there a way to archive it with all the linked files with it?

      Im using sketchup 8 - vray 1.49

    • How did vray 1.6 addressed the color bleeding issue.

One of the problems I encounter with vray is the color bleeding issue. Meaning, for those who do not know what I mean , is when a the color of the object bounce off to the white color or light colored objects, say, a red carpet can make the ceiling and wall washed with pinkish color.

There was a method use shared by stefanq long while back by saving the irradiance map , and by rendering twice.. but I havent been successful doing that- must be something Im doing wrong.

I thought there might be something like override option like max? Is there?
