This won't be very different with 8 or 2016. For me personally, the expanded inference system of 2016 would be enough reason to switch to this version.

Yes, this one, you can download it at the plugin store or with the plugin store extension.
As DaveR suggested already - you should download 2016.
A line or a plane? You can mirror along a line with TIGs mirror plugin...
Why don't you use a more recent version?
You can toggle the creation with ctrl (see little + sign).
