I'm on win 7, 12gb ram, HPZ800

I'm exporting my Sketchup model as a collada and I'm getting these little greyed out pinch points in the triangulation can anyone help.
Hmm, never seen that before, can you share the SU model so I can check, I have a sneaking suspicion it may be something to do with your video card, what do you have (specifically how much vram?)
I've run a clean up so no duplicate faces, and the issue continues when I export a the jpeg so it can't be the video card, no ? I'm on Lumion 3.2, SKp 2013, Windows 7 pro, quadro 600. I can't post model but I can post the offending areas and I've tried this in Lumion and it still has the triangles..... they even cast shadows and nothing shows up in hidden geometry ?

RE: Plug in installation past fire wall
It's been a while since I was in an office with all the security that they require so I have little knowledge about computer systems outside of as a design tool.

How have Sketch-up managed to do so little with so much in layout baffles me. I was using Mini-cad 3 back in 1996 on Cinema G.A's, when you turned all the seats on it performed like Layout does now with about a 10th of the geometry and over 15 years of computer advancement - I had a 90khz 7200 mac - until Layout I hadn't seen such slow performance, spinning wheel of death, amazing !
I would like to update this as since I sold the macbook pro and switched to Windows running 2013 on a desktop machine, I have had very few issue's and I'm fully best friends with Sketchup again, Hurrah !

Plug in installation past fire wall
I'm trying to add some plug ins to 2013 in work and we have the usual firewall and admin blah blah to make it difficult.
If I download the RBZ at home and take them in on a stick is the installation on 2013 the same as it was before just pop them in the plug in folder ? -

Lifepod Project
Following my research and design into disaster shelters, I have come to the conclusion that a community level solution is required, built from simple materials, cheap and easy to build.
The Lifepod Project manifesto -
Community self build disaster shelter
Made from one pentagon and one Hexagon mould in reinforced concrete, it's strength and shape make it extremely strong and cheap to build above or below ground. It can be watertight and ballistic proof. It is built off one simple pile foundation and can be unbolted internally in the event of extreme flooding, a shelter for natural disasters built in the center of communities - schools or college's -
RE: Podium Walker crashes SketchUp 2013 on Mac OSX
Deleting the podium walker file worked -
I am a commercial Architect and I have trusted sketch up since version 3, you address me as frustrated, in your view unduly, however, I didn't expect to learn the inner workings of my O.S to keep shoddy programs working and the answer I received was 3 hours later in which time I had missed my clients and could not open my files. Podium forum is renowned for non answered posts that's why I posted here. Your remarks where the next day ! I've now learnt to delete and re-install plug ins and delete and re-install Sketch - up and generally be cautious with any ruby scripts because you never know which one is going to continually cause problems - that's fine, it doesn't mention that in the sales pitch funnily enough and I urge anyone who has commercial responsibilities to think twice before installing walker and any ruby unless you know how to get back to the basic program.

Well thanks, through bitter experience of using the Podium forum there are plenty of unanswered posts on there...

Podium Walker crashes SketchUp 2013 on Mac OSX
It's been bad enough for crashes with Sketch up 2013 but today I installed the Podium walker beta and I can't even open the program. I'm on Mac OSX 10.8.4 Sketch up pro 2013
It gets to the page with the last project in the background and the continue and template page then when I click start using sketchup I get this
Can anyone help I have to get on with my work !!!

RE: How can anyone possibly use layout
I just ran a test on the same file one in 2013 pro and layout against Skp 8 pro and layout and its much faster on the old system ! Add to this that the 2013 machine is 6 years newer, double ram, 4 times faster on geek bench tests. It runs much slower in general outside of the auto render....

RE: How can anyone possibly use layout
I have been a sketch-up evangelist for many years. I found this thread because I was about to ditch layout all together and go back to hand drawings or anything, morse code ! .... after trying simple room annotation and it's 25mb and I've got 4 floors left to add !!! I know all the tricks used it for years blah blah, however, as much as it's better than the last version, I have upgraded from a 2008 macbook intel duo to a Macbook pro super duper cat and it's only just about quicker in the basic operations albeit quicker in refreshing a skp model etc. Somewhere along the line the basic code of Skp and layout is going to need a revamp, like the man said - it's not a modern CAD experience.
Some of the comments are so partisan, we need to complain about it's shortfalls, I've invested a lot of time and money and on the whole it's been amazing using sketch-up but it's usability in a "pro" situation is being put to the test more and more and any investment needs to go into the central usage rather than funky tools.
