Is there a plugin that allows rendering sectional views. Zorro 2 is not an option 'coz it takes a lot of time when the model is large. Moreover, it deletes geometry, which I don't want to happen.

i remember in version 7 I could change the sun angle...a circle used to come and i would set the north...but i can't find this option in version 8..

isn't there a better way than ghost comp? because i'm working on a housing projects and it has lot of housing units. [varying from 16 to 20 storeys high]..the site is huge, and I want to work on the site model. I was going to the site model with the xrefs of each type of units [located as separate files for each of the towers.]. I can't seem to find a good way

Xrefs in SKPs are NOT like Xrefs in DWGs.
They are full inserted copies that simply know what the external SKP it came from is and if it's been updated suggested you reload it... Therefore adding SKPs into a SKP [Xref'd or not] will increase the file size.
It not possible to do it in the DWG manner where the Xref is a true 'eXternal-REFerence' and the host DWG is barely affected by having it inserted...

so...what's the best way to keep my model lighter, apart from working in groups and layers??

will using xrefs for my model actually make it lighter...for example if I have

a 14 MB model

a 12 mb model of a building block

If I copy paste the latter one in 14 mb one..the filesize may become...26MB
will using an xref of the 12 mb one into 14 mb make the file size 18 mb or so??

Hi everyone....i'm learning ruby so that i can write my own plugins...Can anyone tell me how to convert a .rb file to .rbs and vice versa??

It includes View menu item and toolbar with dialog entry of angles - the Ruby Console version works as before for those of you not wishing clutter... The toolbar only gets made if there's a png file so that's a simple way to stop that being created if you don't want it!

To use set up your Plan [Top] view, without Perspective and in the Ruby Console type Rotateplanview.new to rotate the camera 45 degrees clockwise, repeat to rotate it another 45 degrees etc. The extents are zoomed after each rotation.
To do other angles provide an angle value in degrees - e.g. Rotateplanview.new 10 rotates the view 10 degrees clockwise or Rotateplanview.new -30 rotates the view 30 degrees counterclockwise.
When you are happy with it save the view to a new Scene tab so you can return to it later.

Plugins like Windowizer 4 create fixed glazings. Is there any plugin for creating openable windows in which we can specify the number of panels, no. of fixed and movable panels, mullion width and frame width? Or is there a similar dynamic component available?

Is there any way we can use this plugin to replace a specific material [.skm]..that has been used in the model with vray materials [i.e. .vismats]...??

I'm using SU 8. Whenever I try to punch a hole for a door[which is a component]....the component becomes a weird group along with the adjoining geometry. I want to change the doors position to middle of the wall but can't do so. What should I do?

I just recently switched from Winamp to Windows Media Player 11, which seems to work pretty well so far, but one thing I'm missing from Winamp is the enqueue function. Basically, if I have my playlist up and decide that I want to go straight from song #5 to song #3 and continue from there, all I have to do is start song #5 and then hit the Q button on song #3. Is there any function like that in WMP11?
