I also wish for something like this. I would go one further, and have the label tool be a general "attribute label" tool, which shows the value of any chosen component attribute. Any changes in the model will update the label of course!

Unfortunately there's no list of upcoming features - we're not even supposed to hint about them. Believe me, I'd love to reply to request threads like this with more specific information.

What an interesting title you have here. So...what physical attributes are necessary for mating?

One limitation of SketchyPhysics is that objects that are below a certain size will not move. If your individual door panels are very thin, for instance, they will not move. If you connect several thin panels together with joints, then group them all into a single group, that group will be large enough to move in the SketchyPhysics environment, but the panels themselves will be frozen relative to each other. Sometimes, you need to scale everything up to make a simulation work, even though your dimensions will be proportionately larger than in real life.

Just guessing, but I suppose this is where a solid modeler would shine, as a sphere would be a single entity, instead of hundreds of entities.

Turn on hidden geometry in View>Hidden Geometry. Then you can position a texture on one of your curved faces as usual (right-click> texture> position). After that sample it by holding down Alt while the paint tool is active and clicking on the face you positioned. You can then paint the rest of the faces that are incorrectly oriented. Still tedious though, and some alignment between adjacent faces is often necessary. Also a plug-in aimed at this problem, I haven't tried it out though.

@cholme said: Sometimes they work fine and other times ... First, for setting your own shortcuts: Bravo! Shortcuts rule. Second, they can also be a bit of an insect colony. From the link below, scroll down until you get to the red box that starts, "Complaints." http://www.martinrinehart.com/models/tutorial/tutorial_10.html#defining It's quite a long bug list for one small area. Can I add yours? Martin
