That's very nice that it comes with formulas to sample.
(I figured the materials were added post prod; I meant in your displayed examples.)

No sweat.
If you post John your cred is solid.

RE: [Plugin] SketchyMesh (terrain & shape maker)
Thanks, Raylectron. I have not installed, and am math-poor, but looks interesting. And thanks for posting the examples. I hope there will be more from wherever. For me, hidden geometry displayed in the absence of other materials is most revealing and helpful, but I understand not all share my view. Some actually render.

RE: Chair model at top of page - where to be found?
I did that, but there is little of interest unless you want to pony up.
It would be good business and good for the community if a large hidden geometry displayed image were available for gawking, admiring, salivating.

RE: Curved grip on flintlock pistol stock?
Yeah, yeah.
I gotta nominate to the "'Help Me Model' Hall of Fame" to be opened in a Gallery near you.

RE: [Plugin] Loader for Rotated Rect, Circle and Box [6/14/12]
As a PC user I unzip to the default folder (current: downloads) because I'm sick of fighting Windows defaults. For me Windows has always done a poor job of remembering the last used location or anything else useful, so I just accept its default, which is the downloads folder and then take it from there. So it means I need to know a little bit about what I'm doing, which is a good thing, if not for the reasons which require it in this case.

Have you done a goole search ?? http://www.ehow.com/how_5963073_change-icon-run-administrator-vista.html
Yes, I've done the search a few times. Thank you. Nothing suggested works.

RE: Curved grip on flintlock pistol stock?
Generally as per Peter, curviloft along path, but with lousy proportions and no artistry.
Note the inflated butt, however.
Follow me there would have been better: more precise and no tedious cleanup.
New proportion and butt, but... still.

RE: Chair model at top of page - where to be found?
Uh. Must be a lot in there.
Thanks.

Chair model at top of page - where to be found?
Looks like a nice model. Is it viewable?

RE: Unidentified program trying to access...
I wish. No, it's "An unidentified program wants to access your computer" with options to allow or not but not to 'always allow'. There's also "user account controls prevent unauthorized use" and "Don't run the program unless you know where it's from or have used it before", but nothing useful. Even though I've run it hundreds of times and know where its from and have specifically given everyone the right to run it and even though it is only I as admin who is attempting to run it it won't let me run it without playing the little distraction.
Thanks.

Unidentified program trying to access...
Windows Vista. When I did the last SU8 upgrade, I failed to do it via right click 'run as admin' and as a result ever since I have had to take the extra step of OK'ing every run of SU. Permissions fully enabled for everyone under the sun. Repair doesn't work so I'm guessing a full uninstall - reinstall is my only choice. I've got the plug folder copied out; any way to save toolbar layout? Any other tips?

I used Curviloft along a path (second icon) since I thought this shape is moving through simple cross sections. Then at the butt I guessed that this is the same elliptical shape lathed, so that's what I did with follow-me (perhaps not the best method)... I think curviloft is a good choice for this if you are less adept at organic modeling like me.
Very fantastic. Really nice. ShowOff
But the beautiful walnut is kinda rubbing it in, don't you think? And the brass butt bolster should be finished with 00000 steel wool for that final 'Prell' UltraConditioner look popular in the antique gun re-modellers trade.

it isn't all neat geometry.
Prove it.

Thanks, numbthumb, but Peter has made me very tired. Maybe the OP breathes still.

RE: Beautiful Grey Patch Render
Very nice of you to ask. The more shared, the merrier, and folks can help more that way as well (with models, renders, etc.). Which is not to say that any help is needed. Makes more sense to me personally now that I can see more - the way it all works physically.
Looks very nice, BTW.
Whatever you have time for is swell, indeed.

RE: Curved grip on flintlock pistol stock?
That's nice, if mysteriously precise. Which half is it?
OP can see the elegance of your moves.
This subcontract work times out pretty fast, for some.

RE: Curved grip on flintlock pistol stock?
Didn't follow my own advice.
It's too flat, needs some inflating. Soap bubble plugin?
My times up. Added faces with sandbox from scratch but kind of got nowhere... The checkerboard look is not a special grip texture.
Must learn to listen to myself more closely, or not. I think so in this case --> loft, skin etc.

RE: Curved grip on flintlock pistol stock?
The easy way: pony up for Artisan. I have not.
The not as easy way: think reductively about the shape. What simple forms that are easily modeled can it be reduced to? Perhaps these can be combined. Or perhaps outlines can be drawn that can be skinned. I think I'd try that. Trace or draw the profile from the view you show and then from a view perpendicular to that (and any others you can, the more the merrier). Then use CurviLoft or one of the other amazing free plugins to 'skin it'. If you generate the profiles, you'll have a good start, I think.
Of course you will want to have the profile at the top match the profile which it will join.

Thanks much tt, Sam and steve. Look forward to checking it out.

RE: Old House (actual)
I like them, too, and did not say or mean to imply otherwise, only to ask the question of you and the others.
