Why oh why is there no plugin capabilities in Layout?! Using SketchUp without plugins would be terrible for me. The amount of people improving the program would go from a small office group to hundreds! It would make the program so much better!
Can this please be a thing! Can we do this! Think about it please Trimble people!

i got myself a wifi dongle and its working fine. I think you are correct about the hardware, I didn't use any antistatic or ground the computer. My bad.
I recently got an NVME SSD (960 EVO M.2), unplugged my pc and inserted into pci-e 4. I then booted up the computer and the SSD was not visible. (Not the main issue as I understand these can be difficult to install). The problem was that my internet connection no longer works and when diagnosing the problem found was "ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
I then removed the new SSD and tried again... same problem.

I don't think this is your styles. It looks as if the plane created from skalp is viewable in the scene. Try turning of the layer where the skalp surface is created and update your scene.
After watching the new V-Ray webinar yesterday I have a few questions. I have sent these to the V-Ray team but have not yet heard a response. Just wondering if anyone has the answers?
1 - Using V-ray Swarm, do all other machines on the network require a licence for v-ray and v-ray installed?
2 - In the previous V-ray we were able to replace existing SketchUp materials with vismat materials. Are we still able to replace materials instead of applying new materials to groups?
3 - If you have a single v-ray online licence are you able to do the following example: Use V-ray on my work computer, then at the end of the day, go home and use v-ray on my home computer?

Sorry Pilou. This is not what I meant. When I mean scale referencing I mean from basepoint to another (any) point. Not the extent of the group/component.

What I mean by scale referencing: Similar to AutoCAD where you press 'SC' to scale, select your base point, then type 'ref' to reference another point, then scale as required.
Those videos are pretty useful, but not quite what I was looking for.
I would like to be able to export auto-text FROM layout to automatically update in an excel spreadsheet. This is the auto-text which is accessible under document setup.
Just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to automatically export auto text such as <PageName> and <PageNumber> to an excel file. It would be pretty useful when creating drawing lists across multiple LO files and pages.
I get this same problem. My solution is just to turn google drive off while I'm working and then just let it sync at the end of the day. Google drive won't let you save whilst it syncs the file.
Dropbox does appear to let you sync though and has a lot less problem. So you could switch over.
We are looking at purchasing a new render package to work with 2017 and wondering what everyone is suggesting.
