RE: Question about sketchup for figure and jewerly designers
There's no reason not to scale up your model by a factor of 10 or even 100 while working on it, then scale down again when you have finished.

RE: How to import/create transparent image?
Your image isn't truly transparent, I suspect because it is black and white.
I changed it to 8bit paletted and resaved it and it works.Edit: as massimo points out, how it appears depends on the imaging software you use.

RE: Can you view images outside of your component view?
Sorry Thomthom, my vast encyclopaedic knowledge of SU and it's bugs stretches all the way back to SU7 just before they released 8, so I have no idea.
-
RE: Can you view images outside of your component view?
If you don't explode the images then they will stay visible as long as you have selected the right settings in the Model Info/Components section.
This is two images dragged straight from my desktop, they have been grouped so can be moved around as one, and a box component open for editing.

RE: Good lefthanded mouse?
Oh well, it was worth a look.
But come clean now Rich, we all know a lefthanded mouse is only for use on those sites where it is advantageous to have a free range of movement with your right hand.

RE: Good lefthanded mouse?
There is one used going on ebay. The picture is right handed but it says stock photo, worth a look.
The description says left handed, then right handed, who knows. You can always ask the seller. -
RE: What happens when....
Now Tig you are straying into the realms of fantasy, we all know that nuclear waste from Earth stored on the Moon's far side exploded in a catastrophic accident on 13 September 1999, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it and the 311 inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha hurtling uncontrollably into space, and there haven't been any problem like you describe in the last 13 years or so.

RE: ''Fixing''
And you are going more advanced than someone who just wants to learn how to move things around accurately.
-
RE: ''Fixing''
One major point with moving is Click and release, don't click and drag.
Click once to select the point you want to move, move and click again to release.
-
RE: Plugin for model comments/notes?
Not to mention simply inserting text into your model with the text tool.
-
RE: ''Fixing''
Be sure you are talking about "Components" and not just "objects" or loose geometry.

I can only see the embracing image, what is the other?
Perhaps a bit of colour change will help you see them, there are 9 in total.

Also how do I attach my own graphic?
Many thanks
John LeftwichUse the "upload attachment" just below this window when writing your post.

RE: How to place object on spiral path?
Component Stringer, just remember to not join the end of the path, it won't work on a closed loop.
-
RE: FollowMe frustration
I think it's more what Tig pointed out,the profile isn't perpendicular to the path, which is what I meant when I said it was skewed.
-
RE: FollowMe frustration
Your Path is twisted so it can't come back to the same place. And I suspect the profile is skewed as well.

RE: Humans are naturally good at face recognition!
The brain can see many things, often it is simply context or perception, take many of the images in the funny photo thread.
One famous image is this one, what do you see first.

-
RE: Are you tired?
You may have meant it as a funny suggestion but on a forum where I was an admin we had just such a thing.
It was simply called the politics and religion forum and was a sub forum of our corner bar, it required you to choose to view it and you could opt out at any time.
It worked very well and meant that, if you didn't want it, you didn't have to see the religion threads pop up all the time on the new posts page.
