RE: How would I creat this shape?
I was just looking at this thread on my phone and found that there is an image in the original post. For some reason the image doesn't appear on either of my PC's using firefox.
I see this.
Which means my 'hilarious' blank solution was not at all funny.
Sorry about that. -
RE: Exporting from SKP to DWG error
You're not the first and I'm sure you won't be the last. This is a very common mistake.

RE: 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse (advice sought)
There is no one correct response to your query.
The spacemouse is a rather personal thing. Some love them some hate them and some use them intermittently.
I personally feel like I have my hand cut off when it's not available, but then I have never been someone who has their hand on the keyboard constantly using shortcuts. Plus I use a stylus rather than a mouse, most of the time.
I know some of the very skilled modellers on this forum don't use them, have tried them and don't like them. Others use them all the time.
The reality is, it works for me, not for others and does it work for you and how well. -

Are you using a Standard View (top, front etc) and Parallel Projection.
I have tried them all.
Then I think you have missed the point of my question.
Exporting an image or even a model from sketchup uses the camera view settings. So effectively what you see is what you get. (wysiwyg) Hence my question, are you using a standard view and parallel projection. In your case it needs to be standard view top and parallel projection. This aligns the geometry you are exporting with the view that it will export. If you are not looking straight down on it it will not be the correct size.
So all I did was set your model to Standard View Top and Parallel Projection and then export the dwg which you found to be accurate. -

RE: How would I creat this shape?
Radial Bend, Part of Fredoscale, will bend anything at any angle you want.

RE: For some reason.....
Do you have Auto save set to save, do you have automatically fix ticked.
If so it's not a bug it's just doing what you have told it to do.

RE: Viewport has no reaction to mouse clicks
Yet more time wasted on, have you turned it off and on again.

RE: More Fredo6 plugins becoming paid extensions
After more than a decade of giving away his plugins, with the hope that enough people would donate to make it viable, Fredo made the decision to go commercial. He had to choose a cutoff point. He chose 2017 and up as commercial. He could and should have chosen Sketchup 8.
Your comments are at best Venting. They have no other value. -
RE: More Fredo6 plugins becoming paid extensions
I think it was Socrates that first said something along the lines of, give it to them free and they will complain forever, make them pay and they'll defend you forever.
Free is free, free now is now, things change and rightly so.
The part of this I find most odd is that someone could spend a whole day on it.
The forum guidelines unfortunately stop me from saying what I would like to say.
Good luck to you and your infinite freebee world. -
RE: Solar North
That's more of a disclaimer. Just means the author hasn't updated it to say it works in 2022. This happens a lot as many plugins authors have other things to do and don't get around to marking their plugins as compatible. It doesn't happen automatically nor is it done by someone paid to do it. I know this is a sketchup team plugin, but I'm not commenting on that. So most of the time you can ignore it and just say Yes. If it doesn't happen to work you can always remove it.
It is not a well thought out error message. -
RE: Windows: Clicking on .skp file opens in 2019 instead of 2022
From memory there was a bug, I hesitate to use the word, that caused some systems to lock to 2019. The simplest way back then was to uninstall 2019 and then it would recognise the newer versions properly.
But if you have got it to work then all is good. -
RE: Cast Iron Spiral Stairs
That's ok, I have people that record everything I say so the important stuff won't be lost.

RE: Cast Iron Spiral Stairs
Isn't that were we are?
Like I said, I'm confused.
Now I see, this is Gallery.
