      Hello Fredo,
      Love your Plugins, thank you!
I keep getting this message..."libfredo6 will be updated at next startup of sketchup.

I have tried reloading, deleting obsolete files etc etc.
Can you help me figure out what is going on?
      Thanks

      Fredo,
first of all thank you again for your most excellent Plugin.
I have a question, how do you suggest modeling contours around a retaining wall?

Unfortunately, cliff cannot be handled in the current version of Toposhaper, because it is based on a Grid concept where each point of the grid corresponds to one altitude.

Currently, you have to post-process the shape by cutting the wall manually.

      Fredo

Thank you Fredo, How hard is that to incorporate into the plugin, its is christmas pretty soon after all!
      thanks Again.

      Fredo,
first of all thank you again for your most excellent Plugin.
I have a question, how do you suggest modeling contours around a retaining wall?
I have been testing a variety of options, but can't quite get a clean surface that would approximate this detail.
There would be a lot of clean up to get the surface correct, and I was hoping you could comment on a work around...
Or dare I say it, and added function to the plugin..?
Not sure even how to explain it, (let alone figure out how to go about adding this function)...but could it be possible to designate areas that are to remain flat?
For example a surface at the top of a retaining wall.
Thank you in advance TIG, and I am dropping by your donation tab to give you a much appreciated thank you!
      Best.

I'm having some trouble running the plugin, that looks very cool I might add!
This might be something outside the workings of your plugin, as I sometimes get this message with other plugins...
thank you in advance for your help!

    • RE: [Plugin] Layers Panel 1.2.1

      Hey this looks promising,thank you!
Quick question, can I use the same layer in multiple groups I create?
For Instance lets say i wanted group Called "Foundation Plan" and one of the layers in that group was called "CMU Wall"..
Could I create another group called "Typical Section" that also had the same "CMU Wall" inside that new group?

Also, could this plugin be used to open an existing drawing with Layers, and the layers already created automatically show up in the dialogue box you have created?
The Previously created layer names don't show up

      Thanks Fredo.
Yes you are right, this was a dense a map, but I thought I would get as high a resolution as possible because I thought the denser mesh would provide finer resolution for up close shots.
The way I solved the problems showing up when I ran the plugin was to open the sketchup file twice, and arrange each one on my split screens. I ran Topo Shaper on one file, and where I noticed a particular problem on one of the contours I would spend some time on it figuring out what was going on.
In some cases there was an odd remnant that had to be removed, in other case I just deleted that entire line.
in the end, and once the problems where identified and fixed the mesh was created without any trouble.
Thanks so much for this plugin, its been wonderful.
      Best.

      Toposhaper screen captureHello Fredo
      Love your script!
Can't tell you how long I have hoped for something like this.

I am having a problem with a large topo map I am working on.
As illustrated in the attached image, when I go to preview created mesh there are lines that do not correlate with my topo set.
When I generate the mesh, i get this type of deviation.
Can you suggest what might be going wrong?
      many thanks in advance.

      Good day Thomthom,
Working my through this plugin, looks awesome.
Can you by any chance post a drawing (perhaps the base drawing for the video you posted) here?
I would like to see the condition of the drawing you started which allows you to run the plugin successfully.
Most of the CAd I get is so complicated and poorly put together that I am having trouble replicating what you do in your video. I would like to practice on a better base to see if I can modify what I am getting to work better.

    • Scrapbooks in Layout-view port too small-work around video

      Youtube Video of the same:

This video is a to show you how I use trays in conjunction with scrap books in layout.
i use scrapbooks to house all sorts of information i use frequently in my construction docs, and it works great.

Often though, I find it difficult to determine and pick the correct graphic from the Scapbooks window as the dialogue box is too small.

A work around to this problem is to create a separate tray that contains only scrapbooks.

I do this by creating a new tray under windows from the pull down menu.

.in the next dialogue I choose scrapbook only.

Now I have a dedicated tray that contains only scrap books.
This tray can be undocked and re-sized.

I enlarge the tray's size and the graphics inside are also proportionally enlarged.

I have a split screen, so I keep this tray away from my main layout view port.

The information that i need in my scrapbooks is now much easier to access.

Sketchup 8 crashed when I copied/paste contents of plugin folder between 7 and 8.
Methodically went through and copied/restarted only a handful of rb scripts until I found the cause.
In my case, and hopefully no disrespect to ruby writer...the culprit was "modelur.rb"
Not sure how to send a message to this plugin author...than again maybe its just me!
