hi, how did you do the background (to make it look like snow flakes/drops were falling)? ive always wanted to add things like fireflies to jazz up some night shots but havent been able to find an efficient way to do it

    • How to naturally add value to a house?

hi this probably won't interest everyone but i wanted to pose the question- how do you add value to a house?

i dont mean by building an extension to it, i wanted to just focus on new build...

for instance i could build a house on stilts and have some kind of pond underneath with atriums and sun tubes to support life thus adding ecological value to the home...SU model to come soon

      Other answers welcome

    • RE: Hopetown carriage works (wip)

hi, this looks great so far... forgive my ignorance but could you go through how you have went about texturing the various parts?
did u draw the chiped away parts and then extrude and colour and alter the texture map or is there some photomatching involved
      Keep up the good work!

yeah its really good, just a small thing about the trees... were they put in with photoshop im not completely convinced about the shadow positioning on them, also a shadow on the man would be nice...
otherwise its pretty impressive! how long did it take (SU, kerk, PS)?

yep i, didnt really have enough time to add too much detail or refine it thats why i blacked most of it out on the image

thanks for that james, i had no idea they wanted so many crossings, my general problem with londons planning is the east/west divide thats beginning to formalthough hopefully the developments for the olympics and help to resolve it, i suppose its nice to zone off the different typologies but it densifies the residential too much

    • RE: Yet another beach project

The balance between the stylised and realistic elements are great and the level of detail is very impressive, how big is the file for this mode? i didnt notice too mnany textures (that would be of considerable size) but it works well in the overall effect

    • RE: Background image from SU model

absoloutely right it is London, our final project is based in london, im looking at brownfield / derelict areas by the rivers but have been having trouble finding a site of topological interest, as my building design techniques try to disregard ground clearance and other mechanised interventions with the natural landscape
      ive narrowed it down to....

      Battersea power station

      South bank centre

perhaps somewhere within the docks (near city airport)

do u know of a site (preferrably by the water) im heading over to london on saturday

    • RE: Starry starry night with tilt up.

ahhh ok its my misunderstanding, i thought the lightr was coming from the windows and so would fall on the same angle as the windows (which conveniently would fit in with the road.
      sorry about that
