Does anyone know how to make a new line type in Layout or a new dashed line type? I want to make a line type that is set to a 1/2" radius and repeats as I draw a line. It would be great if I can create a rectangle and then change the line to the fore-mentioned style. Any help would be great.

RE: Revision Cloud
@tommyk said:
Revision Clouds are currently dealt with by using scrapbook objects.
Krisidious has such a scrapbook here:
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40%26amp;t=49829I use them all the time, and it serves my purposes.
Thanks, for that some of the scrapbook pages look good. The clouds are not "uniform" enough for the work we do. It is great they are there, but I am needing something more along the lines of how AutoCAD rev clouds look. I want to be able to make one rev cloud and then resize it to lets say 3 times as large and have the half circles get added as it gets scaled. The half circles stay the same radius but more are added. Making all different sizes of rev clouds is more time spent and might not be best for all situations. But thanks for that link.

Revision Cloud
I need/want to have a scalable revision cloud option. I want to be able to bring it in and then resize it and have the half circles to stay one size but have more of them added as the size grows. Anyone know if this is available or of how to make it happen? I want to be able to do this in LayOut because we have other line work associated with our rev clouds for the construction documents. We have been doing the rev clouds in Adobe but it really is a bad way of making them.

RE: Frozen scene manager
I have had the same issue with the Scene Manager freezing on me. I was able to get rid of it but I had to open a new file and paste in place each of my 3 groups into the new file. After this I was able to add more than 1 scene without it freezing on me.
I have also run into an issue with saving the same file. I get a handful worth of saving to the same name before I need to change the name. If I don't it freezes and takes about 5hrs to save.
Hope this will work for you.

This should help you. These are all standard sizes for cabinets in inches, not metric.

RE: Dynamic Component of a bi-fold door
Thanks, that is exactly what I needed for a bifold. That is a very tricky thing to come up with. I don't think I would of thought of doing it that way.

RE: Dynamic Component of a bi-fold door
AVguy could you show me how you got it to work. Every time I try to change the axis and have it rotate it either separates when it rotates or it overlaps when it rotates.

RE: Viewport over line work
Thanks all. The items were on different layers, so that was the problem. I had an idea to make to act like Photoshop and how it uses layers, so I tried that it worked. To me that is dumb and backwards as far as creativity, but oh well. So thanks again to everyone.

Viewport over line work
I am trying to label colors in layout for a drawing, but my line work stays behind the viewport of the object. I have tried the arrange tools but they do nothing, is there a way for the lines to go on top of the viewport so I can actually show what each color is being referenced?

RE: Dynamic Component of a bi-fold door
Sorry to bring this back from a long slumber....but is there a way that the rotational axis is different for the two bi-fold panels. I am trying to make it work as a true bi-fold door. So the panel attached to the door frame is rotating on one corner lets call it "A" and the other panel is rotating at the opposite and flipped corner "B". See attached image. I have been trying to reuse the original model attached to the thread, but have had no luck getting it to rotate properly. I need it to have the same rotating parameters as the original does; i.e. opening 90, closing at 0.

RE: Stair Issue
I got it figured out. I had to replace the parent name to parent when referencing it. I watched a youtube tutorial and the guy used parent instead of the actual name i.e. straight stair, straight Stair!tread_Depth. Now it reads Parent!tread_depth and so on for every reference to the parent, and from parent to grandparent. I am happy now I don't have it lingering in my head every day I get to work on how I can fix it. It will now be a useful component since the landing follows the tread and riser numbers location and same for the turned section of the stair.

Hidden command
Is there a limit on the number of entries in the list to make a statement true or false?
I have a window frame built for a single, window, and a triple window. The piece between each window does not hide when the size selected is making its statement true. An example: I have a frame selected to be 72" high by 3-30" wide(actual value is 97.) The statement for the Hidden dialog box is as follows "=IF((Victorian Window Frame!Window_Width)="39.5,43.5,47.5,51.5,55.5,59.5,63.5,67.5,71.5,75.5,79.5,83.5,87.5,91.5,95.5",False);IF((Victorian Window Frame!Window_Width)="18,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34,36,38,40,42,46,48,79,85,91,97,103,109,115",True)" the issue is that it still reads False. Is this to many entries for the DC to run through to verify it is false or true?
I tried the 3-30 as the value in the statement and it did nothing.

RE: Stair Issue
Any help with this from anyone. I have tried multiple variations and every time it ends up the same way no matter how it gets written. I have tried from scratch again, but every time I have it setup and then change a value it all gets jacked up. I have tried it with the tread depth/riser height/stair width/riser number/tread number to be in each sub-group and linked back to the parent component. When it comes to changing a value, it all goes hay wire. It reverts to the value of one group and the other groups don't recognize the values since they are not inside of that group (this is my understanding.) This has been bugging me to no end since I started it days ago.
But like I said I only want to have 1 riser height dialog box, same for tread depth, stair width, lower risers, lower treads, upper risers, upper treads. I dont want to have to insert a height value or a length, i know it complicates things.
I know I could get it to work if I only use each sub-group as a DC and have to go inside the parent every time to modify it. This just defeats the purpose of a DC to me.

Stair Issue
I have made a dynamic component for a straight stair and a "Dog Leg" Stair. The "Dog Leg" stair I am having an issue with. Here is my dilemma; for stairs I don't want to have a height dialog box, I only want to input the riser height and tread depth, so no length dialog box either. I have been working at it to no avail, but think I am close. If someone could take a look at it and see if they can get it to work I would appreciate it a lot.
I have it setup so the lower portion(below the landing) can be any number of risers/treads and the same above the landing. With this being said I want the landing to be in the correct location of course.
Thanks for the help.

RE: Cutting an irregular shape out of a face in a DC
I am having a problem with the cut component process. This is for a window frame, it was made as a cut component. Everything worked fine, then I made each part a group inside of the overall component. Doing this so I can have it Dynamic, but that gets rid of the cutting aspect of the component. How do I get it so it cuts again with the different widths and heights?

Cutting an irregular shape out of a face in a DC
I am working on doing Kitchen Cabinets for the houses my firm makes models of for clients. I am working on the sink cabinet, I have them all made and working with the counter top on each. But I am now trying to add a sink to the top face of the counter top. Here is the problem, how do I get the sink to intersect with the face of the counter top and be deleted? The sink is a group inside the cabinet component and the counter top is another group in the cabinet. The cabinet changes from a 36"-48" for every 3". The sink needs to stay centered in the counter top for this to be done correctly. The sink intersecting outline on the counter top face is not a rectangle it is an arc in the back and the corners are filleted.
Any suggestions, I know I could make a simple rectangle open space the sink sits in, but where's the genius in that. I really want to be able to have a group intersect with another group inside the same component. I am sure this might help others later on and will be a very handy feature of the DC's.
Thanks for any input.

RE: [Plugin] 2D Tools
I have made a hatch using the PATT_AR-BRSTD file. I named it PATT_AR-HRDWD, I modified the file in Photoshop and saved it. When I use it to hatch a face it looks to be compressed to the size of the PATT_AR-BRSTD. I have the new PATT_AR-HRDWD file attached. I would like to use this as a hatch since it is a wood floor hatch. Any help on why it is compressed in size when used in Sketchup would be greatly appreciated.

Component names
Is there a ruby out there that allows you to either hover over an object and see its name or similar to the "layer" toolbar? I have a problem with the "entity information" window is so narrow on my screen and I want something that can be stretched wider if I need it so I can see a components name at a glance instead of scrolling through it. Thanks and I hope something is out there.
