I am trying to label colors in layout for a drawing, but my line work stays behind the viewport of the object. I have tried the arrange tools but they do nothing, is there a way for the lines to go on top of the viewport so I can actually show what each color is being referenced?

        hi,
I am definitly not an expert, but I think your problem is that your views are not on the same layer as your lines...

Try that and if it does work, try posting an image of your problem, it would clarify things.

The items are on different layers. You can arrange the order of layers by drag/dropping them in the Layers Dialog.

...and even on the same layer you can order things by selecting items individually or as a group and either (a) clicking on the arrange menu, or (b) right clicking and selecting arrange, then

            • Bring to Front
            • Send Forward
            • Send Backward
            • Send to Back

            within any individual layer.

Thanks all. The items were on different layers, so that was the problem. I had an idea to make to act like Photoshop and how it uses layers, so I tried that it worked. To me that is dumb and backwards as far as creativity, but oh well. So thanks again to everyone.

Can you explain how you think that's backwards? Once you know about layers, it seems right to me that the topmost layer takes precedence, and then items within each layer determine the drawing order. How would you do it? Thanks for any feedback.
