Select by Material on my blog may do it for you. Make the material you want to select the current material by selecting it in the materials browser then execute the plugin.

I can not to say that one or the other method is better. Both modeling techniques complement each other. It does not give preference to anyone. I just started earlier use Artisan Plugin.

The first impression is good, but for me it is still too difficult to understand some of the physical characteristics of the movement.
