Absolutely stunning modelling - some of hardest designs to accomplish in SU!!!
-
Quite masterful modelling, are the bed sheets also made with sketchup ?
-
Top notch.
I was going to give this a try as my next project.
Just got Artisan a few months ago and have been watching the tutorials and trying get the hang of it.

Thanks guys for the comments. Bedding and pillows are borrowed from elsewhere.
I can not say that it is very easy to do with Sketchup, bearing in mind that Sketchup is not friendly with polygons, and I'm probably stupid, because in the world is a better programs. Slowly, I can see a few steps ahead, how to do it. Excellent Plugin (VertexTool, FredoTools, Artisan and many other) improved capabilities, but...
I'm starting to think that Sketchup evolution is too slow... -
These look fantastic though
-
Excellent!
I suppose Artisan as Subdivisions making ? -

I'm starting to think that Sketchup evolution is too slow...Im always challenged with this tufted furnitures. Its kind of tidious to come up with
a proxy that would yield a good subdivision.- (non destructive). Much much easier with Max for example. But i still do it in Sketchup for the love of the software... Yeah, we are everyday hoping for better handling of polys.. -
Thanks for the coments, guys. next model...and render from THEA

Just curious, did you get rid of the ngons after stage three in your workflow?
-
Great models.
How many entities have the last couch?
-
lovely... you have mastered this incredibly. May I ask you one question. This last sofa you made, (the red one)how much time will it take you to do a typical sofa like this, if you have the idea in your mind how the proxy should look like?

I will not lie, it takes 4 to 6 hours. The most commonly used UNDO and SAVE function. How to look like a proxy, as a sculptor does. stylized shape formed long for good result

I don't understand the step between the 3rd and 4th step. How do you built the vertikal lines for the chesterfield pattern before artisan?
-
this is insanely Amazing. i bet the process has to be very precise. i modelled a tufted cushion in modo which is easier to do in sketchup. in the end , sketchup is Not a sub-d modelling program. even with artisan, and other plugins, still not perfect. but from your post. it's possible!. great job. i will stick with modo or blender or 3ds max

Looks like subdividing with hard edges.
