[Obsolete] BZ__Arc for BezierSpline 1.2
-
This extension is now included in BezierSpline 1.4
BZ__Arc is an extension of BezierSpline which will draw a Polyline with round corners. You can specify the offset (distance to the corners) and the number of segments as the Precision parameter (based on the number of segments for a full circle). It also manages closed polylines (loop mode).
As the polylines remains parametric as long as it is a curve, you can later change the parameters, and move, add or remove vertices.
Finally, as for other extensions of Bezierspline, you can convert any Sketchup curve into a Polyline with Round corners.
Here is a small video about it.
[flash=425,344:1cmsigfz]http://www.youtube.com/v/XpLcAusWYV0&hl=fr&fs=1[/flash:1cmsigfz]Indeed you need to install BezierSpline 1.21 beforehands. If not already done, just refer to the post at http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=13563#p100509.
For installation of BZ__Arc, you just need to
- drop the attached file BZ__Arc.rbin your BZ_Dir_12folder
- drop the two icon files into the subfolders IMAGES_CadFather and IMAGES_Standard which are located in BZ_Dir_12 folder
I am interested to know if it is useful in practice.
This extension is integrated in the main release of BezierSpline 1.4. See this [url=http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=13563#p100509:1cmsigfz]this post[/url:1cmsigfz] for download

You have save me like a month of hard modeling with your "plugins". Or i should say for the realese of sketcup 7.9?.Thxs a again

Great!!!
Maybe even better if one can define the segment number by himself. -
sorry, i was so busy copying the icons i forgot to copy the .rb

It was dangerous to post something the 1 April

Thanks a lot Fredo cant wait to try it. Youre comment about what it could be used for in practice? This one looks pretty diverse for all users, so I imagine it could used for anything, including modeling your own dentures Personally I would probably use it to create accurate site plans where the site boundaries have curves to them.
For some reason when I downloaded the attachments i couldnt find the two image icons? they were missing. can someone please post them here, thanks Jeff.

right click on them here and choose save as.

An another helpful plugin made in Fr(edo6)!

Dear Frodo,
Can your Plugin be used used in X, Y and Z? This is just the type of Plugin that one would use for pipe and wiring runs. An option to draw the lines by inputting the X,Y and Z co-ordinates as well as drawing the lines free-style would be great.
Like all those that have replied, I greatly appreciate your skill and generosity.
Kind regards,

This of course is by refreence to a full circle, because there is no need to use a lot of segment for a very open angle.
By default this 'Precision parameter' is set to 24, which is the usual default for Sketchup circles.Fredo

BobThe plugin works in 3D, as all the BezierSpline extensions.
For drawing the polyline, I think you have full freedom to use the tool you like, then make it a Sketchup curve (by Weld), and then convert it to a Round Corner polyline.
