Thanks for that bit of info Maggi. "If you would place a baby in an ultra clean room directly after birth, it would not be able to digest its food." I alway thought that all of this emphasis on cleanliness, antibiotics and sterilizing everything was getting out of hand.

My ex is doing Landscape Architecture at uni. I told her I was using Sketchup - never heard of it was the reply. She was using Rhino, then later she was using Vectorworks, she told me the other day she is about to start using SU - because everyone else is using it I offered to help if she needed tutoring on the program, she laughed and said I would regret making such an offer, no I won't I said. I still haven't received a request for tutoring

Okay so this thread is about the 'How It's Made' tv program. Why the "New Fantasy" part of the title? What's that have to do with anything? Invader ZIM, I guess what I'm asking is why did you think this topic would be something good to discuss? If there's something about it that interests you then it might have been better if you started the discussion by explaining your interest. Do you have any particular interest in cultured skin tissue? What about traffic lights interests you? If there is then you should have taken the time to write about those interests in your first posting. That would have given this thread context and allowed a meaningfull discussion to follow. I realize you (Invader ZIM) are probably the youngest member here. Most of the rest of us, as you can see from our avatar pics, are probably older than your parents. We can all get along and have meaningful discussions but it does require each of us to try and communicate clearly. Your original title for this thread, the "quote", and your words have not communicated very well. If you walked up to some random adult in a mall and said "New Fantasy How it's Made Episode: Today...on How it's Made. Blood, human skin, hybrid vehicles, and traffic lights!" I'd suggest they wouldn't understand what you are talking about. It's not much different here. Most of the discussion here in this thread has been about trying to figure out what your point is. In general please take enough time to re-read your words before you submit them to assess if others will be able to understand your point. By the way I like the TV show and watch it occasionally with my kids. We always learn something from seeing it. Regards, Ross

IF 1 gallon (US) = 3.78541178 litres... The UK petrol[eum] ('gas[oline]') prices fluctuate by location and also week by week; but they seem to do nothing but go up since the start of the year. Currently it's just over £1 per litre - that makes a US gallon about £4. Since there's currently about $2 in £1 that means that in the UK we are paying the equivalent to someone in the US paying $8 per gallon... plus/minus 15 cents??? Thirty-plus years ago in the UK when fuel rocketed in price within a matter of weeks and it rose up to ~40p per gallon(Imp), everyone said that there'd be riots in the street when petrol eventually hit £5 per gallon. We're not quite there yet, although we're 90% of the way with it at about £4.70 per gallon(Imp), BUT in terms of disposable income I guess that we're earning about 10 times more, so fuel is 'pro rata' only ~20% MORE expensive than it was back then... In the same time frame beer has about doubled in price - 'pro rata' on your earnings !!!! What was three/four/five beers for one pound is now one beer for two/three/four pounds - depending on the beer and how 'posh' the bar is !!!!

I've switched from biscuits/cookies to veggies. If I'm feeling a little peckish towards late morning, I'll just gobble a few cherry tomatoes with maybe a lemon tea. I also try to keep some celery sticks or pre-sliced carrot in the fridge, with a choice of dips. For the weight-watchers, Tzatziki is one of the best, at only 20 cals per tablespoon. Hummus is twice that and Taramasalata is 3 times. Salsa is virtually nothing.

That's a great update Eric! I'm currently at about 35 pounds lost in eight weeks. That works out to an average loss of 4.375 pounds/week. My jeans are noticably more loose. The other day I had to punch a new hole in my belt so it could continue to keep the pants up. I'll have to look for that Bob's Red Mill "Mighty Tasty GF Hot Cereal". I'll give it a try but only in small amounts as I'm trying to avoid eating corn products. Regards, Ross
